Big Bang Event

Pride 2019

Happy pride, YWS!

The Queer Inklings club has celebrated this time of year with contests in the past, but, this year, we wanted to do something different. To celebrate pride, the site is hosting an event styled after fandom big bangs: participants all write with the same general topic, and create a plethora of works. Fandom events usually center around the fandom, but our event's topic is being LGBTQ+.

In order to take part, all you have to do is a claim a spot in this thread and make a queer work! It can poetry, a short story, a song, flash fiction, an essay, a novel chapter - as long as it has to do with being queer, you've participated.

You can write as many works as you want. Just make sure to link them in this thread so we can all check them out. <3

And, when the month is over, you'll be awarded a badge for all of your hard work!

Good luck, YWS, and happy pride!

I suck at participating in events and contests... so I claim the first spot, because why not? XD

One question, though: is a storybook post sufficient to qualify?
But the Fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
— Paul the Apostle

Winter is inevitable. Spring will return eventually, and AstralHunter with it.

Do we have to put them elsewhere and link or can we put them straight in the thread?
We were born to be amazing.

@Tenyo, you have to put them somewhere else on the site before linking them here, but I can always make exceptions depending on the situation. <3

I'll try!

The simple truth is that authors like making people squirm. If this weren't the case, all novels would be filled completely with cute bunnies having birthday parties.

an island story

A Kingdom Hearts poem that focuses on the headcanon that Riku has a crush on Sora, but tries to ignore it because he knows that Sora and Kairi are meant to be together. It was partially inspired by my own experience with crushing on a childhood friend as part of a trio that almost mirrors the Destiny Islands trio - there was just two girls and a boy, rather than two boys and a girl.

I shall claim a spot as well!

Claiming a spot!

Question: do these have to be officially published via the Publishing Center? I was thinking of using my blog as some of these aren't ready for prime time (or the Writer's Thread for continuing an old project that refuses to die)

Edit: first work is done. In Bluebell's Spring, a former girl-group member shuts down her homophobic aunt, finds out her former bandmate dropped some alarming news about their old relationship, and decides to use the opportunity to come out.

@niteowl, I apologize for not replying sooner, but I totally skimmed over your message and didn't notice that you had asked a question. You can definitely do that!

Thanks! Yeah it was an afterthought I edited in because I realized there’s a lot of rough ideas on this topic in my head.
