Kratzer looked up at him, still looking a little queasy, but at least appeared to be more oriented. "Ah, uh, I don't think so, James...danke...It's, uh..." he glanced back towards the group. "Just very...loud. Which, usually...isn't quite...problematic, but...I don't know. Too much, I guess." His voice was soft, betraying the complete and utter exhaustion he felt.
"All that is gold does not glitter,
Not all those who wander are lost;
The old that is strong does not wither,
Deep roots are not reached by the frost."

James gently put a hand on Kratzer's shoulder, and matched Kratzer's volume, keeping his voice low. "If you need more than a moment, I'm sure you can stay in the bathroom longer if you need. You have time."

He shook his head. "I don't vant to draw more attention to it, I don't zink. Think." He forced a small smile. "I'll be alright. Been through vorse." That was true enough, even if it was a bit of a stretch. The war set the bar pretty damn high for 'worse'. Still, it hurt, all of it. The stitches, the internal damage that still hadn't healed, the throbbing of his headache caused from not having fed in far too long on top of having sustained such damage.

He shrugged, then winced, regretting it. Slowly, he leaned back against the wall. "Nein, but it sure as hell ain't gonna kill me."

"I admittedly don't have a clue," Magic declared, "but I'm up for suggestions! I can conjure anything we need to play the game. A board game, a Wii, a Playstation, a Dance Dance Revolution thing, even one of those fancy arcade set ups--if you want it, I'll get it!"

"Oh," Thytes said, "I cannot say that I am familiar with any of those. If that is what everyone else would like, though, I cannot say no."

James paused, looking at Kratzer carefully before finally nodding. "Okay. But if you need anything, let me know. I'm sure I can ask magic to get something. They're resourceful."

He gave James a small smile and dipped his head. "Ja, I will. Danke, brother."

"Of course," he said with a nod of his head back towards the room, leading the way back in.

Kratzer followed him and Diamond glanced up as they entered, looking to Kratzer with a questioning gaze. He just shook his head and sat down in the nearest chair, wincing a little as he did so.

Damascus beamed as Magic suggested games.

"Yes! Wonderful idea! What about... ah, what is it called... Twister!" He nodded, as if to confirm the validity of this, though he had never played himself.

Then Engel walked back in, and his smile faded ever so slightly. His brother was obviously sick, and he hadn't even noticed at the very beginning. He didn't want to ignore him, but something told him that clinging and persisting would only cause his brother even more pain.

He settled with standing and casually walking over to sit nearer. He leaned over and whispered softly, eyes wide in concern.

"Would you like some water?"
"what dose the raccoon look like?"

He looked up, smiling slightly despite himself. It was so strange, going from all the events of the last week - all the betrayal and the struggle and the pain - to this. To being surrounded by people who actually cared.

As far as he was concerned, no one could ask for better brothers.

"Nein, danke," he said softly, giving him a small smile. "I'm alright, Dami, really. Diamond patched me up. It'll just take some time until I actually heal."

Since he didn't feel comfortable getting into what seemed to be a conversation he didn't belong in, Thytes instead chose to lean in Magic's direction and whisper, "Pom, what is this Twister? It does not seem very safe."
