How this works for anyone who does not know what a Forum Adventure is:

This is effectivly a forum game, I present a scenario with a mix of pictures and words, -In this case the story of Potluck- then you the readers will give suggestions on what the protagonist can do to get through the area, or solve whatever presented problem arises. Through this, you can be involved in the creation of a simple comic. A choose your own adventure story of sorts. In order to allow frequent updates these sorts of stories often rely on sprites and other shorthands, allowing a lot of freedom with how the author reacts to comments, without making the whole process take days between updates. In the case of this forum game, I will try to update at least 3 times a day, assuming people reply enough.
Example:

Here is bob, lord of the fairys, wondering what he is going to do today.

Person 1Pick up the pumpkin
Person 2Eat the pumpkin
Person 3 Dance like a fairy

What pumpkin?

Now assuming I explained this all well enough, lets get on with the game
You are a hobo, like most homeless people, you are wearing rags and frequently at risk of dying of exposure. When that is not happening, you are mostly starving. So when a bearded stranger mentioned a legendary gate, filled with rooms and puzzles that if you can pass, would give you anything you wish for.
So you decided you might as well check it out.
So here you are, in front of a gate with a weird hole that says, "insert two items."
