I did some Grimm research to hopefully eliminate my aforementioned huntsman dilemma, and there has been great success. I've decided to make my character a shapeshifter from The Thief and His Master. It's not entirely clear who the villain is in there, but both the master thief who wants to swindle the father (and maybe own the son? It wasn't very clear) as well as the son, the thief, who is the protagonist and also ended up killing the master thief, have shapeshifting abilities, so I'm going to assume that the Grimms would want to kill my character as shapeshifting is a decidedly non-human trait. Sorry for the massive run-on sentence. Also, fairy tales have severely warped logic. For instance, even if we're ignoring all the strange decisions the characters made (a father encouraging his son's thieving destiny, accepting a very dubious contract, and then consulting a dwarf for help. This father then engages in a type of swindling where his son turns into an animal and he sells his son. The list goes on.), the transcript I read ends with the master thief dying and then the phrase "...and he has remained dead to this day."

@FalconryGirl9086, the monsters in Grimm tend to be humanoid but to morph into a more human form. It'll make more sense once I get the first post up in a few days, but I'll try to give a good example here!

This character is a lot like my character Nikki. Both are inspired by Little Red Riding Hood and take the parts of talking animals. This guy looks pretty human, but the protag of the show, Nick, is able to catch a glimpse of what he really looks like. See how his features change up a bit, but he's still humanoid? That's what monster transformations typically look like.

Going off of the few episodes I've seen of the show, Grimms tend to see past their disguises when they're either caught by surprise or angry. Like I said earlier, my post should hopefully clear things up!
@Feltrix, that sounds good to me! You just need to come up with some sort of non-human appearance for them. Maybe they could be that type of animal the father turned the son into? And I love how quirky fairy tales can be sometimes.

Question: why is the fifth Grimm slot taken? Who's taken it? Is Taken a person? Is all of this classified and I should keep my nose out of this if I don't want to disappear ('cause that would be awesome! Oh, and terrifying)?

Yeah, I just skimmed a list of Grimm's Fairytales until I found one with an interesting name. If the summary was also interesting (and had a good villain), I read the transcript.
