So at this point we're waiting on @Shota and @XxXTheSwordsmanXxX to create their characters, and then we can be fine posting. No rush, you two. I was just pointing it out.
Samurai had two, sometimes three swords. The longest is the katana, which was used primarily for generic combat, and worked well on the battlefield. Next was the wakizashi, a sword designed for both close range combat and sepukku, or suicide. Lastly was the tachi, a blade mostly used for ceremonial purposes, but could also be used in combat. The tachi is not a required samurai blade, and has no set length.
So if Meiji is a character, how does that work? I don't think he'd come to Okinawa, right? Especially if it's under attack. And if our characters are just some peeps from Higashi Village, where is the connection?

Meiji won't even appear in the story, as far as I've planned. In fact, he ignores the battles in Higashi Village, leaving our crew to protect it instead.

Aw, I was excited to see a first post because I thought we had started already! @Leekeer, be sure to submit your character through the side panel of the SB, where it says "Create new character," rather than in an actual post. SBers used to have to submit characters the way you did, but now with Nate's fancy coding it's much more organized

Don't wanna pester you guys, but @Shota and @XxXTheSwordsmanXxX, could you possibly have your templates up by Wednesday? I'm out camping till then, so I can't write the post anyway until I return. If this is too soon of a deadline, just say so, but I really would like to get this thing on the road.
ALSO so I was thinking of why and how Ueda would know how to speak some english. And it's nothing we gotta commit to if ya'll think it sucks!! But I'm thinking maybe, since Japan's in a transition out of it's isolated state and had like, opened up communication again,,, idk maybe Ueda like... served as a translator for traders on? Or maybe made a friend with like an english missionary ????
