Alright! I admittedly don't have too much of this world planned out - I was thinking we could all take part in it. But I do know a little bit about the kingdom and the political instability.
People in this world have always been able to use magic. Unlike in our world, they never forgot. Power isn't always related to someone's magic, but it often is. For example, the kingdom was created by a very powerful Rogue magic user somewhere around six hundred years ago.
The current instability is that the people of the kingdom are starting to see it as behind the other areas of the world, and they blame the royalty for the lack of progression. They also believe that a change in leadership is needed, having seen that democracies help out neighboring areas more. This has been a problem since before the current king came to power, but it seems to have reached its peak during his reign. It's unclear if it's because of how he rules or if people have been wanting change for far too long.
It sounds like Andreau having anxieties about ruling his people are well-placed. 8D
This could either drive him to be a lovable political martyr, or an out-of-touch luxury icon that will lead to political revolution a la the storming of the winter palace!
