WRITER'S BLOCK IS LIFTING SLOWLY and thus I'm trying to push a Valon post under the door. We also have a new challenge in the master thread that follows our trend so far. I'm hoping to shorten posts a bit, alleviate pressure, and speed up just a bit to reduce mortality rate.

Valon post is in giving us a glimpse at Howlengale customs, Valon's proudest moment, and subsequently a transition into the first fracture in his relationship with Tynan.

Also we've hit level 3, which means everyone gets a new free spell from Tier 1 (anything currently in the spellbook.) At this point, you all know your spells well enough to know what you want, but mentioning them here helps the rest of us write for your characters, naturally!

I'm so glad I wrote that. It feels nice to write again.

The chapter finale was a big ol' gush fest for a reason, and that's because Chapter 2 begins with Valon receiving a letter from his father in Howlengale. So our next chapter will take place in Silverlake! Lots of ice and mountain and snow imagery. Bring your coats!

I tried to tie the challenge in nicely, as well as give an idea that we'll be reducing post size to hopefully increase psychological frequency. AND GET OUR FIFTH RANGER.

Using my Black Magic, I've changed Zoey's ownership over to you, Sheyren.

Also, I've been thinking about our gang in terms of classic Final Fantasy jobs.

I think Valon would be a Red Mage/Red Wizard since he seems to favor black magic + possible white in the future but with melee attacks, making him a jack of all trades/master of none. I've given up on the idea of him being a summoner since I dislike the idea of Tynan being alone in melee.

Tynan seems like a Paladin to me. Battle magic and white magic? Aw yeah.

Ziafar is harder. But if we include jobs from games like Tactics, he could easily be an Astrologian.

Astrid is our twisted, twiiiiiisted White Mage/Druid.

And Zoey is also tough to pin down. Her physicality bereaves a rogue, but her magic...I guess is White Magic. Would she be another Red Mage??

You absolutely can! Figure out a type of magic you wish to specialize in and a type of combat you prefer, and then build your character as you please! 8D We'll introduce them in the upcoming chapter!
