Hunter, it seems that I will not be likely to complete my post today, and perhaps not tomorrow either. Given the nature of the edits that I will have to perform - which, depending on whether or not I can resolve a particular issue, may result in my removing the later 2/3rds of my post, at the very worst (though it looks like I'll be able to avoid going that far) - it may take me some time (heck, I might just have to delete the entire thing and start all over again, but I have no idea what to write in its place). I'm not suggesting that you change anything in your post, as I think it's absolutely fantastic. However, this is just a notice that it will take me a while to figure out exactly what to do to make mine conform to yours. So, if it takes longer than expected to complete the post, that's why.

@StupidSoup, you have to be satisfied with your name, yes. None of the other characters got to choose. Is there something about the name that bothers you?

People, please don't feel obliged to rush your posts. If we only get this underway next weekend, that's fine too. As long as everyone knows what they have to do, I am satisfied.

Remember, everyone, you must like every single post you have read, so that we may see who is up to speed and who is not.

Also remember that long posts are not mandatory. In fact, since this storybook focuses so much on characterisation, and having read a great deal of expired Pokébooks over the last few days, I highly encourage writing shorter posts that end in the middle of a scene, thereby allowing the other character's creator to pick up on your cue. Not only should this relieve the stress of setting out time for writing long posts, but the characters also interact more naturally. In time, you should even be able to portray the other characters to their creators' satisfaction.

But again, don't forget to read and like the posts.

PS: The expired Pokébooks on pages one, seven and eleven of the Storybook Archives come with my highest recommendation. Especially Europe. (America expired shortly after creation, and I haven't read too much of Kanto yet.)

@TheSilverFox, that was an outstanding post! I loved every part of it, from the descriptions to Achilles' interactions with the New Yorkers. I cannot wait to see his reaction when the commissioner finally arrives.

I am delighted to see that you have used the correct header and footer, but remember the in-universe date is 18 March. We shan't be skipping any days either, so the next day will be the 19th, and so on. This means our characters will get to celebrate April Fool's Day and Christmas, but according to their time, not ours.

@Poopsie, who said posts couldn't be short and enjoyable? Not me, certainly! I see you also used the header - thank you. However, add the footer too, please, since it does help to know at which time a post ends. The coding is available at the top of this page. Also keep in mind that your character doesn't know what his name is. Fox cleverly used his preferred name to refer to himself, but since your chosen name was Alex anyway, you can keep it there, just add somewhere that he chooses to name himself that. And remember to like the posts, else I shall badger you throughout the SB.

Oh, and I see you already decided to take my encouragement about creating situations to bring about more characterisation to heart. While I hadn't expected that to happen, I am flexible and can easily find justification for it. But don't think you'll get to work for the mayor - the Moirae have decided otherwise. He's out for lunch, so even after you reach his office, he will not be there to receive you.

I'm really sorry for me delay in editing my character. A friend of mine recently took his own life, and I just can't really get in the modd for writing. I want to still be a part of this though. I just need a little more time.

I know he's in a better place now for a fact, but it's still sort of making me feel sick with anxiety. And so soon after some other problems resolved themselves in my life.
Time is a good healer though, and that's all I need right now.

Mm. Good points well made, methinks. Especially the time bit. It's... I mean it still sounds frustrating in the sense that nothing can really be done after the event happens, but like... Yeah. Time. Best healer. *sigh*
Seriously, if life didn't have some of the wonderful things it offers, one would almost ask what's the point in seeing other people's suffering in it and not necessarily be able to do anything about it -_-

Yeah, there's suffering in the world. But my personal philosophy is I'm willing to help take on someone else's suffering if it helps make the world a little better. So yeah, I feel bad, but I can only imagine how his family is feeling. So if I have to hurt a little extra to help them out as well as anyone else, I'm fine with that.
And things are going to get better. They always do. No matter how long it takes, things always get better.

Oddly enough, the issue of worrying about others when there's nothing I can do about it is something that had plagued me until very recently. A conversation with a certain someone on here though helped to realize there is no sense worrying over things that I have no control over. All I can do is what I can, and leave what I can't do to those who can do it.

@Rydia, @Buggiedude2340, and @SpiritedWolfe, shout if I need to throw you a lifeline! If life is being rude, I can try to kick its butt for you.

I'll not be able to post until mid to late next week as it's my friend's hen party this weekend and I've got an important event at work and a poetry contest to run It's most likely going to be next weekend to tell you the truth but I'll catch up when I can!
