I think that most writers are either super early-morning people or night owls. Our brains are just wired to deal with inspiration at weird times, like at 3 AM when you have the best idea ever and just have to write it down.

Also with "kids" movies... I got my most recent story idea while my mother was watching Frozen. She thinks I prefer it to stuff my brother watches, but she's incorrect. The main character is already dead- but that's where the story starts.
