And, I've wondered about that. Considering it's supposed to be pretty cold (with potential snow) in the winter wherever they are, it should probably be a state in the top half of the country. Denver, Colorado maybe? Or Portland, Oregon?

Well is Cole is from Boston and he took a taxi service (assuming he didn't arrive by plane and took a taxi to the house) it could take place in Massachusetts. He would be roughly within a 26 mile radius of Boston (average fare for a taxi per mile is about $3 divide that by $80 and its roughly 26 miles). So if we really wanted to figure out irl town names, he would be in Andover (north), Harvard (west) or Braintree (south). All would be a 20-30min car ride away.
If he took a plane (which kind of seems weird if he just flew in that morning and goes to school that day, poor thing would be exhausted) it would take like an hour to get through security, plus waiting for the plane, boarding the plane, and then the actual flight, then leaving the airport, and getting to the house. That's several hours of traveling, he probably wouldn't have gone to school, his aunt probably would of let him have a day to recoup and adjust to time zone differences (if he crossed any time zones).
But let's say Cole took the T (MA slang for train) then took a taxi. He could be in New Hampshire, Vermont, or Connecticut. But there's still a time element here, so the train would take about 1-2hrs and to get to another state maybe another 30mins- 1hr. He could still be fairly rested and functional enough to go to school that same day but he also may be rather tired.
And then let's say Cole had traveled the day before and stayed in a motel for a night and the taxi picked him up. He could be anywhere up north then. We could just vote on a northern state in that case.
I totally get that people are busy and it is just the first round of posts... But it would be good if you guys could get your posts up A.S.A.P as the storybook did start nearly two weeks ago and I think several people are excited to get this going.
Also, I suppose if someone didn't want to have to follow the 1 post a week commitment, they could technically post one every other round of posts (once every two weeks) or if there was a part of the story that someone didn't want to show their character for (exp: wants to show them at the lab but doesn't need to show them at school beforehand), they could just say they don't want to input and we can make a note that we don't need to wait for them.
Also, the poll has been up for a few days and it looks like the winning option with 5 votes is: If they're in form for too long, they should have side affects after becoming human again. I realize now that this option was worded a bit odd and technically, should have been a "No" option. With this option, there isn't a time limit but after a certain amount of time in animal form, they will get side affects after turning back into humans. I was a little surprised that this option won over being forced to turn back with side affects, but hey! That's cool.
It sounds like most people agreed that the Animorphers, when injured, should stay injured in both forms but would maybe be able to heal faster than normal? This doesn't include previous physical defects such as Jinx's eye, though. He can have full vision when morphing, since it's not a new injury that requires healing.
As for their location, I had originally intended for Cole to fly in to live with Layla's family... However, as Sunshine pointed out that it would be a bit unrealistic for him to fly in same day, which is a good point. However, if Cole's mom sent him the night before and Cole was one of those lucky people who can sleep soundly on a plane... If he went from one coast to the other (say, Boston to Portland) it would be a little under seven hours. So he could get on the plane at 11pm the night before, sleep for nearly seven hours, then get off and through security by 6:30AM, he could easily make it to Layla's house in time to go to school, while being decently rested. Anyway, there may be a way for it to work, no matter where they live. Any thoughts?

Oliver's a bit weird, still gotta get used to writing him. He's not going to be so out of it all the time. That was actually a bit... bleh to write. Hopefully it's better to read. I just didn't feel like repeating the whole thing with Charlotte when it had already been said in the SB (in Wolfie's post, duh :p). Anyway, yeah. No sleep plus running a ton equals bleary, confused Pascal.

Prok once said something about Nate and apple pie. I forget the context.
It was great, @Hattable! I enjoyed reading it! I can tell it will be fun to read from Oliver's perspective.
What say you @Noelle? Think you're getting close? *poke* *poke*

Should there be a time limit on how long the Animorphers can be in animal form?
1 Vote For: Yes. If they're in form for too long, they should be forced to morph back to their human form.
5 Votes For: Yes. If they're in form for too long, they should have side affects after becoming human again. (Winner)
2 Votes For: Yes. If they're in form for too long, they should be forced to morph back to their human form and have side affects.
2 Votes For: I'm happy either way.
Again, I realize the winning option was worded a bit wrong as technically, that option would suggest there isn't a time limit for which they are forced to do something (morph, stay animals, etc...). It's just that after a set amount of time, if they choose to morph back, they will have side affects. So, I guess there's a limit to how long they can morph in the sense that they're have to deal with side affects, but they can still technically be in animal form for as long as they like.
One thing I would like to add to that... What if when they're severely injured in animal form, weakening them, they have trouble staying in animal form, thus, having to morph back. Or, if they're in human form after being severely injured, they have trouble morphing until they get their strength back? Just a thought. Let me know what you think. Thanks!

That is what I was thinking. Like if the person was morphed, injured, they could have trouble morphing back into human/animal. Same could go for if they are human. Also, didn't we agree on something that they could just re-heal themselves? If not, I think that would another idea. Like the scientists could give the teens a gene of rehealing (like the Wolverine in X-men). However, that is also a thought and can be discarded/worked up on.

I don't think we've talked about a "thing" that would help them heal, like a food or serum of some kind, but we did talk about the idea of them being able to heal faster than normal due to their enhanced genes, which I really like.
