@15253 One question about that tricky appearance: are we going to have an appearance (even with a changed name) of the Great Canyon? I really love this place. That and the music. One of the ebst themes of the PMD series.

I don't have a defined backstory for Twinkiel yet :/ Hesitating between a few. I guess I'll just reference it in my next posts when it's ready. Ren's one sounds like some kind of murder, though.

@Tortwag, did you not read my quick update? I already expressed that Hunter's post was astounding, so please don't assume otherwise. And still, despite the fact that everyone experiences sadness, I believe much of the sadness is minor and can be overlooked in a backstory. If the character lived the best life possible and lost a family member at one point, I believe that one event would be worth mentioning, but certainly not worth exploiting to the point where you feel sorry for the person who's lived happily their whole life. It's conveying the wrong message. As for the racist remarks, I'm sorry that's happened to you. I, for one, accept all people, regardless of race, so I'm clean for racism, but again, I hope it isn't affecting you. You seem like a resilient person.

@Charizard821 I did I did, but only after I posted my comment! I forgot to re-edit, sorry for that.
Oh? I thought the backstory was exactly that. One quick flash-back mentioned that would make us understand how the character was/lived as a human, and then STOP. Not just bash on how his/her human life was miserable, etc. Not to the point of feeling sorry for the Humons. That would be kinda sad, yes, I agree.
Not to mention I didn't want anyone to feel sorry for Twinkiel, personally, he's not the kind a guy you'd feel sorry for. Unless he actually starts crying.
Meh, don't be sorry, you weren't there when it happened over and over again :) And no it's... Wait, on second thought, I think it's probably going to affect my life during quite some time, mostly because it's freakin' annoying, but my persona is not really affected. I have... ways... To fight against it...
*creepy chuckle*
No but seriously, as bad as it may sound, I'm kinda used to it by now. And not everyone's racist, too. Sometimes it's just:
-"ah, so how come you speak English so well :D ? Is it because your country's language is English?"
-"... I...I was born in France... I'm actually French. Y'know... like you."
-"...Oh. Sorry, I didn't know :O"
-...Um...We've been in the same class for 2 years :/ And I told you several times."
-"Oh. I'm sorry D: So is it because your parents come from an English-speaking country? :) Do they speak with an African accent :O ?"
-... *gets slightly angry* And do you your parents speak French with an European accent?"
^
See this? Multiple that dialogue by around 40 times a year. Nothing mean, but um... Haha... Annoying -_-

*adds resilient to English Vocabulary list* I am, to a certain extent. Partly because of the racist comments/looks and stereotypes I've been through.
ooooh, resilient is actually a word shared in French with the exact same meaning! Interesting...

@Charizard821 Je pensais l'avoir déjà mentionné, mais oui :D Et tout le monde l'oublie dès que je parles une autre langue.
Hmm... That phrase of yours appeared quite formal... I'm gonna go ahead and guess that you're not actually French but has knowledge of the language. That or you cherish formal wording like I usually do.

EDIT: NEW AVATAR! I'll miss you, Bowser Jr. But at least I found another Graffiti-psycho to replace you with :D
Seriously if it wasn't for Twinkiel, I would've chosen to be a Smeargle. Fits me better. Just as crazy, just as strategic and creative, but not as powerful.

(Ugh, why does everyone speak French? Do we have any Germans or Chinese around who I might talk with?)

Anyways, I will for sure be posting tonight! (Morning/ early afternoon for those of you not in the Americas.) Anyone else can go in the meantime, but just warning y'all.

@Robusto: I have most of this scene written out, but I need to fill in the specifics, so... some information on the guardian of the toxic plate, as well as the history of the alchemist's tower would be nice. I remember reading something related, but I cannot find it...

@Buggiedude2340 Everyone? Are you serious? O.o I barely met any French-speakin' person in YWS since Auxiira!

Yaaaaaaaaaaay! Make your post so we SBers may enjoy it :D Can't wait to read it. I think while I revise for my exams, I'll just write a few lines everyday until my post's ready.

Wow, I'm gone for a day and the number of posts outpaces me. This still not stand! :P

@15253, @Charizard821: When I read your posts on the Super Bowl, I cracked up. XD. Just so you know, that doesn't mean I'm being offensive to any of you, because that goes down as my least favorite Super Bowl of all time. I didn't even like either of the teams, but that's just me. The Seahawks beat the Packers (I went to Lambeau Field. I'm a big fan of the Packers), and my other favorite team exploded for the millionth year in a row. XD. Actually, I do kind of like the Seahawks - they are an awesome team, and managed to make both my favorite teams pay for their indolence. That passing play was...well, I know that somebody's bound to be fired for that, but it sure isn't going to be the QB (it isn't his fault - he's too smart for that play). I only watched for the pizza and commercials, so I won. :P

Yes, everyone has had sadness at some particular time. Nonetheless, I remain the eternal optimist who has a love for drama and writing tragedies. And I also believe that the point of the sad stories that @Robusto was trying to get across is that they are not the main stage of the story, but they are important. It is not a pity party, it is a coming-of-age story. The characters are shedding the skin of the former lives, and the pain that went with it, and choosing instead of become heroes in their own, and in others, rights. The stories do provide a backdrop, but they are not the actors, and they are not the script, and they are not the play. They are but a backdrop, and it is up to us to make characters that excel beyond that point, and emerge as true heroes, whether they run into conflicts along the way or not. I agree with you on that measure, then. Let us not emphasize the tragic moments (nonetheless, I'm going to poke at them at various parts of my characters story, just to provide a bit of complexity to him), and rather, we should look towards the good ones.

@Tortwag: Racism? Dang. I'm sorry that you have to deal with the nincompoops in the world who have shadowed their minds with such a torturous opponent to free thought. :| I'm happy to see your resilience and optimism in the face of it. :D Ah, a family line is French, now that I think about it. It goes all the way back to Paris, in 1694....lost track of myself, sorry. :P. Nonetheless, I'm sorry to say I can't speak a word of the language. The most I know is Systeme Internacional de Unites (The International System of Units *couchcoughsciencenerdcoughcough*) All I know is a little bit of Spanish from a class I'm taking, and even that's a bit rusty.

Well, that's about it. Oh, and @Robusto or @AstralHunter (whoever will be on here on sooner), may you please send me a PM on the place of the...

Pixie Plate? I can't remember the name but I need to know the info before I write another part.

Goodness gracious, I need to get into the whole Super Bowl thing! XD. When I get another chance to write a part, I'll be sure to incorporate some sort of a memory of the Super Bowl, and maybe include my favorite teams in it. This ought to be funny...:P

@TheSilverFox Quite the interesting points, you've made there.
And unfortunately I couldn't entirely laugh at the baseball team jokes, as... Well... I'm French.
If it doesn't explains it all, it means that French people usually don't really care much about baseball, because different culture. I like the sport, though! I just don't follow it.
"They are but a backdrop, and it is up to us to make characters that excel beyond that point, and emerge as true heroes"
Dunno about the others' plans, but ...Twinkiel? A hero? Heh. If we reach the end of the SB, which I really hope we will, I think my epilogue's gonna surprise a few of you guys :) Just wait and see. But I still find your point very thoughtful, Silver. That's an interesting view on Robusto's gesture.

Yes, Racism. Yes to the resilience part, and... I'd rather go towards satisfying revenge than optimism to face the problem :p By that I mean: I actually don't believe that'll it'll ever stop. It WILL drop, though. The racist tendency has dropped quite a lot over the years. But it'll never end completely. One mistake by one person of a "different race", and BOOM, it can start again.
That's too bad, dude. Speakin' several languages is so much fun. So many people to forge a link with :D That aside, yes, the SCIENCE NERDS, you got it right.
My family line's not from France, though, but that's another complex story.
Oh, also, I did I mentioned that I loved your latest post? It was so well-described, and the encounter with Luno was just... God, I see what you mean by "I'm optimistic". You described a happy-go-lucky society, and a wise, happy guy who enjoys life. It was great.
...DARN IT. Happiness was OOZING from that post. Way too much good stuff, I need to tone it down a bit with my next one...
...MUHAHAHAHAHA- ahem, sorry. Too much happiness is boring to me. One reason why I didn't like heroes when I was a kid.

Sorry, Tort! It's just that pretty much all of my friends at school decided to take French, so I don't usually have anyone with whom I can practice German.

I get sour about the situation, it seems. Sorry if I offended you!

@Buggiedude2340 Wha... Most of my friends in the international school I'm in took German O.o Quite the parallel we have here.
Pfff, nah, you can't offend me with that :) Twas just another excessive reaction of mine. I'm not patriot anyway. I just expected to see more German people in YWS than French, because it's easier to seak Emglish when you have German by your side than French.

@Tortwag: Ummmm...that's not baseball. XD. It's football (futbal de los Estados Unidos in Spanish). I enjoy both sports, and I've played both of them, though, like you, while I'm interested in time, it's not all that often I pay attention to them. It's no big deal though. :D. I'm interested in seeing Twinkiel's epilogue. Knowing him and you, it's certainly going to be surprising. :D. It's the same for my planned epilogue. :D. As a hint, I've provided the most dramatic example of karma ever (I don't believe in it, but...whatever. :P). I'm happy you liked the story! Too happy, eh? :P Yeah, that means my optimism is showing in my writing! I must kill that feeling! :P See you all around! :D

@TheSilverFox Oh American Football. Right. My bad.
...Why did my google research told me they were baseball teams...? I must've misread...
That aside, Haas, that's an interesting hint! Now I'm curious about Aegeas' ending. In the hypothetical situation if this SB not finishing, I think I'll just write & post the epilogue anyway, as a goodbye post. I really hope I won't have to do it.
It IS showing un your writing, seriously re-read your descriptions towards the end, it's impossible NOT to smile. And don't worry I'll kill the feeling as soon as I can. Hopefully, my next post will contain the scene that I've been waiting to show you lot for a long time now. I hope I can place it well...
