What's the most outrageous thing you used to believe?

I used to believe that Earth was circled by five moons.

I used to believe that bathwater came directly from the ocean, and lived in constant fear that a squid would come out of the sink.

I once saw this indian movie with my aunt where a couple are walking down the beach and the ground opens up to reveal a huge octopus-lizard-shark-thing that ate the girl. No one could convince me to go to a beach after that. o:

When I was little and shared a bed with my older sister, she convinced me that there were coyotes under my bed that would eat me if I got up in the middle of the night-- in an attempt to make me stop crawling over her so much, since I slept closest the wall.

What really happened was that I started taking a running leap at the bed from quite a ways away, and usually landing squarely on top of her. It doesn't pay to be mean to me. xD

I used to believe in Harvey Dent.

That Stephan Hawking belonged to the same era of Issac Newton's.

Did I say Newton? I meant, Einstein. Oh, pish! >_<

1] I used to believe that when monsoon season came, the sea would rain down on us and we'd have to turn our bed into a raft; I actually tried convincing my mum to get us a bed that could float--I figured the mattress would get soggy.

2] I also believed that these weird creeper-thingies with vines for hands lived under my bed, and they'd grab my feet if I dangled them off the edge. So I'd usually throw a pillow on the ground, scream, jump off the bed and run out of the door.

3] And ... uhm ... I thought my dad was the tooth-fairy when he left a pack of crayons under my pillow. I was awake and I demanded to know where he hid his wings. XD

I used to believe that if you swallowed bubblegum, they'd kill you. In fact, it was so big that I made a point to never swallow gum.

I just now remembered this seeing as I'm eating pizza right now...

I was such a picky eater when I was little and my parents used to try everything to get me to eat. So one time my dad ordered pizza, flipped a slice upside down, and told me it was azzip, which was "completely different" than pizza. I totally bought it and would order azzip all the time. Took me a while to realize that azzip is just pizza backwards. I think I was around 6 years old or so.
