What book inspired you to write?

The book that inspired me to write a novel was Legacy by Cayla Kluver. She wrote it when she was 14, and it was republished by a proper publishing house when she turned seventeen I think.

The prose was wonderful, and it was fantasy so I loved it and hated it. Loved because it's what I also wanted to write, hated because I was envious. (Now I think back on it, I wouldn't have liked the book now; it showed that she wrote it at 14.)
So.. I wrote my first two [horrible] novellas after reading it and it was to prove that a non-english speaker can write a novel at fifteen of age~ xD

I didn't get inspired by a book, rather a TV show, 'Avatar; the last airbender'.

Probably whatever little-word-book I read in kindergarten when I finally had my break-through with reading. Believe it or not, I remember being very stressed about reading, and I was frustrated I couldn't do it. I felt like I was slower than the rest of the (tiiiny) kindergarten class, so when I finally realized I was actually a pretty good reader, that was the tiny spark that led to a blazing fire that shoots in all directions. Because I ended up loving to read with a passion, somewhere along the way I knew I wanted to write those books. I never quite put my finger on it until late middle-school, when my English teacher had us free-write one day. She said she would do it often, but she only did it once.
That was the day that I penned my first free creative writing that I was serious about, and realized that I wished we had the free-write day every day. (I only ever wrote that one page of that story)
So all the books I've ever read have inspired me to write, incrementally. I thank all those picture book authors~

Hillary Clinton's future autobiography.

Well I wasn't inspired by a book series; I was inspired by Greek myths we studied in English in middle school, and we had to write our own mythological story.

I was inspired by my school, and my Maximum Ride by James Patterson

The first two book series to inspire me to write was Warriors, by Erin Hunter and The Wolves of Beyond, by Kathryn Lasky of which I wrote my first (and only) crossover fan fiction novella, which was indeed horrendous.

I was inspired to be honest, I always wanted to write and that was that. Though like @Wolfare1, I think my serious writing journey started of with Warriors by Erin Hunter.

I was inspired to write when I read a book called "The Quest" by Wilbur Smith. Unlike others here, this was not a very good book. It's the one book that made me think, "wow, this is the kind of thing that gets published these days? I can do better than that."

I was always good at reading. In the library in Year 2 , I picked a Charlie Bone book too big for my age and insisted I wanted it.
I also remember reading Roald Dahl (Matilda is my all time favourite book) and Jacqueline Wilson when I was younger, but I think I wrote instinctively.
Ever since I was little, I loved writing about my day and Literacy helped my creativity, so now here I am.

You know what inspired me to write? That movie Read it and Weep on Disney channel when the girl writes her diary or whatever and it becomes famous. >.> Gah I am weird.
But also because of that one book called Utterly Me Clarice Bean by Lauren Child. Don't ask me why, I can't remember XD

Read It And Weep had Allison Scagliotti in it (as the mean girl, if I'm not mistaken). I like her a lot.
