If I'm on the Robot Federation side, do I just put the same eye color for eye color (after) in the character template?

If you are a part of the Robot Federation- the eye color will always remain the same.

So I would assume the battles are fought with weapons such as guns, crossbows, etc, not hand to hand combat with knives or swords?

@GreenTulip told me that it will be pretty high-tech stuff. Machine guns and bullets that are electrically charged because since robots are mechanical they can be destroyed with electric charges.

That would make sense, especially considering it's 1000 years in the future.
