I turned, watching Caius carefully. His voice had caught me off guard, especially when intruding my head like that. I quickly pulled up a mental shield blocking him out after quickly replying with gladly.

I held my staff steady, and it immediately covered itself with a thick coat of what looked to be lightening. It snapped and crackled in my hand.

Caius and I circled the room, facing each other at all times. When I least expected it, he cracked his whip, hitting something above me and causing it to fall, narrowly missing my head.

I realized immediately that this would be better handled outdoors.

As I edged around, still moving in a circle, I began moving backwards as well as sideways. As the door became closer, I did a small back flip and landed nimbly outside the building. Caius grinned, realizing that he was dealing with someone with at least some amount of experience, and followed me.

Jenie.

the tracks were difficult to track though the force that Jenie had seen leave was great. Why? Why can't I see them? She followed the paths, knowing that they would be hard-pressed to find a way through the thick bush and forest around it. But she was stillconfused about their apparent lack of a trail.

There's only one way they could have done that. A wizard. But how could the king be so stupid as to show such rashness! This unprecedented and shows no hope of peace, like he told me. Her anger increased as she realised what His Majesty was doing. The affect of his actions and his lies was going to last for a long time; she couldn't trust him again and it would not help her in her work.

She finally saw signs of some sort of movement. A group had split off from the main one, and the wizard seemed to have been unable to hide them. The tracks circled around a smoking hill in front of her, and she realised that what she was seeing was a burning town. Shocked, she soared down into the midst of the fight, an Inn in front of her, and soldiers running behind her. Her small form meant she moved undetected, the men unaware of her presence. But she still drew her

He followed Selen back through the fighting, warding off a few stray blows as they went. The Galian soldiers fought well, but their insanity was clear through the discipline with which they were conducting themselves. He took her arm as she made for the stairs, instead guiding her to a side door, "This way. We need to get out of this town now. If the wizard gets past that girl, or worse, kills her, he'll be coming for you. I could see that in his eyes."

Selen looked a little taken aback, "Aren't we going to help her?"

He stopped - it hadn't occurred to him, "Perhaps, although they're both magic users. Unless you can do something more than your invisibility trick, there's nothing we can do. All I've got are my arrows and my sword."
He had decided to live forever or die in the attempt. - Yossarian, Catch-22

Selen:

Selen frowned. "No, let's go." She replied as they scurried out of the hotel and towards the edge of town. "Maybe she'll make it. I hope she kills him."

"Do you know him?"

"Kinda, he's been following me." She replied softly. "For some time now, acctually."
