21 Years of YWS

Nate created YWS 21 years ago on November 14, 2004. This week, we're celebrating our not-so-young society with a handful of fun events, outlined below!
But First, What Happened to the Vowels?
We're not exactly sure how the vowels disappeared from certain areas of the site, but we do have a theory as to why. If you think about it, the English alphabet has exactly 21 consonants (if we count Y)!
We've done some digging, and our leading culprits of this hoax are the dragons and the monkeys, who, after all these years, are still vying for the Official YWS Mascot throne. We think they're competing to see who can steal the most vowels, and hence prove their undying loyalty to this site. Which is, uh . . . questionable logic. We don't think there's anything nefarious going on, unless #classified is involved, which is an entirely different can of worms. Either way, we should be getting all our vowels back once the birthday celebrations are over!
