There were a lot of great responses on the last writing sprint, so here we are then. XD There's another one! This contest is a writing sprint that lasts all day long! The sprint is all about getting some writing done and as much as possible on the given day. But hey, there's no pressure! This is purely for motivation and a small nudge for your own writing progress, with a few awards up for grabs. ;D

Start and End: Saturday, April 19

Guidelines

  • Claim your spot and sign up before/on the starting day.
  • If you’d like to get a reminder tag a day before, let it know in your post!
  • This contest is restricted to the given day only, therefore only writing done on this day counts!
  • Add your total word count in your post, update as many times as you like on the day only.
  • Have fun!!

You know, ଳjellyfishଳ can't swim or shine on their own, but once they absorb light from around them, they're able to shine for themselves! So maybe...I can, too! If I'm around you, maybe I'll be able to shine, too? -

SPRINT:2841
NOTES:763
DISCLAIMER: I am disqualified from this competition I believe because part of my word count comes from weaving in old pieces of writing, but that's just where I am in the process right now soooo. But that word count did get added to the official document as it currently is.

Yay, another one! I probably wouldn’t be able to sprint a lot ‘cause of travelling, but let’s claim a spot anyways XD

spot! (spoilered for length)
Spoiler
goals: i want to write more over the break and get my poems for the past 2 days in (i wrote them, but i have yet to post them). i've been in such a write-y mood and haven't been able to do it due to my parents breathing down my back, BUT I AM GOING TO WRITE AND WRITE A LOT AND WRITE WELL AND IT STARTS THIS WRITING SPRINT
1. napo poem for the day (themed)
2. get napo outlined
3. at least 7 poems using the poem-a-week themes
4. at least 2k of my harry potter fanfic (i have so much inspo, what the flippity flop-)

word count for my harry potter fanfic chapter pre-writing sprint: 4733
word count for my harry potter fanfic chapter post-writing sprint: 5582

let's see what we accomplished goal wise :)
1. and 2. i sadly did not get these done today, but i will get them done as soon as possible. i have been writing a poem a day, i just haven't been steadily posting them to my napo thread because some of them do not fit with the theme (also, i personally feel like a few of them are total dung and i need to edit them a bit more before putting them out into the writing world). anyway, goals 1 and 2 were not a success, but it's okay because they will be later.
3. 7 was very ambitious, and i knew that when i was writing this goal. i only wrote 1 poem based on 1 of the prompts given. i consider this goal a success despite the numbers being off.
4. past me was also overzealous with this goal, so i'm shortening the word count goal to 1k and calling it a day. i am considering this goal a success!!!

2/4, not bad :D

i consider this sprint a success because i got stuff written even with all the homework i was doing (along with playing games with my family when they wanted me). i also consider it a success because of my newfound understanding in the way i set my goals. i am too ambitious and i set goals i know it is very unlikely i'll be able to reach. this is something i need to fix and will do my best to remedy starting now.

okay, other than goals, i wrote a roleplay post yesterday, accounting for 163 words. then for my harry potter fanfic, i wrote 849 words (which i am proud of considering i wrote over 10k in my homework).

total wordcount (not counting the 10k from homework): 1012
