Camp NovMo April 25: Timeless Forevermore

In this forest, time is fluid. We shift objects between the past, present, and future as naturally as plants photosynthesize. But when one of us breaks our most honored tradition and shifts a tree elder, he must face the consequences. No matter his intentions. No matter if he was once a hero. He is now Timeless.

Worldbuilding

I've realized I like to start worldbuilding by creating a conlang, so I can figure out names for things. And also it's fun XD Soooo here's what I have so far!



It's inspired by the sound of wind rustling through the trees :> Also note that the alphabet on the top right is backwards lol-- I wrote it before deciding on the bottom right to upper left direction of writing.

Ooh another wiring project that dabbles in time!! Ahh looks like some fun world building!!

I LOVE stuff that messes with time! I wonder what more rules about this forest are?

Language stuff is SOO hard, I give you props for even messing with that! I'm looking forward to seeing characters and more stuff about the world!

ooh such a cool idea!! (+omg the writing is from right to left AND travels diagonally upwards? this makes it seem so much like a writing system developed to write on cylindrical things like trees and logs(and also baguettes hehe) O.o)

• did some worldbuilding! the main setting will be a forest, of which only a few trees are considered elders. the elders permit humans to use the other trees. for example, humans can cut down those trees to create treetop houses :3
• humans write on non-elder trees by shifting bits of bark to the future (the message will disappear at the time they shift them to). this achieves a result like carving
• humans have invented devices that they can wear to prevent themselves from being shifted in time. it's common knowledge that elder trees are naturally immune to being shifted
• elder trees are immortal. at least, they're supposed to be >.>
• did some ~secret~ worldbuilding for future reveals too >:] like some of the elder trees' dirty secrets...
• and came up with one of multiple planned mysteries in the present: for as long as human memory goes back, the maximum shift distance was a little over a century. but now, some are able to shift across multiple centuries, and perhaps even millennia...
