YWS Over The Years

I know I posted this before, but I can't find it anywhere. But in celebration of YWS' fourth birthday, I think it's appropriate to post again.

As you no doubt know, YWS has changed significantly over the years. When it started on November 14, 2004, it was a simple phpbb2 forum. There were no bells and whistles, and it looked kind of bland. Since then, the site has expanded to become the young writers portal that it is today.

Wow. Brings back memories. I joined Dec. ’06, so it’s interesting to see what the site looked like before I joined. It looks so odd to see YWS with slanted loopy letters instead of the button as its logo. Loved the Fishes/Globe/Ant eater phase, when we had the pictures up there in the header. Fun times. And the log in bar up at the top there in Feb ’07.

Lol, the early-mid 07 pictures have given me nostalgia. Trapped in the good ‘ol days of my youth.

On the YWS preview – will the homepage actually be that short? No scroll bar or anything? Either way’s fine, of course, but… on the occasions that we have the chat, where will it be put? Or shall we take care of that when we get to it?

I remember all of them.

Wow, I remember all of them. I hadn't realised just how many times the site has changed.

Actually, it's weird to think that I've been here for almost all of YWS's life. I joined only three months after it was set up, so I've been here for almost 4 years.

OOOOOH!!! I can't wait until the new one comes!!!! Yes!!! I was wondering....indtead of a chimped out version could you make color choices that we could choose from? I think that that would be more interesting!

Man, I really forgot about the old website format, even though it was my cyber home for years. I had the Solaris theme back in the early forum days, then in the 2005-2007 era, I had it as dark gray with purple accents. The 2008 version looks the least familiar to me, I imagine because that's when I started undergrad and spent a lot less time on YWS until 2012, by which time we had the current setup. Really wild to look back!
