    Yes, it took me weeks to learn how to read... when I was four. Since then its been easier, but words that are foreign to me I don't know their meaning.

    What annoys me: The fact that people think they're soooooooo cool just because they think they think outside the box, when really, it's the same stupid idea that everyone else has! Get a life.

    If you give your BF/GF a pen then see someone holding that pen you don't go up to your lover saying, "OMG I saw _____ with that pen I gave you! your sleeping with them aren't you! you slut!"

    Othello. Shakespeare is fine really I don't mind his writing, but Othello made me want to do bad things. Here's Desdemona explaining what went down, along with Emilia, and here's Othello, "Oh my love, I love you so much. OH look what I found! a pillow great for smothering.... yeaaaahhh well i'm a jealous bastard and i'm gonna kill you because Cassio had a handkerchief." If my BF slept with another girl I wouldn't smother him in his bed. I'd confront him, end it, then egg or teepee his house, not KILL him.

    Yeah I get that but what kind of theme is "jealousy triumphs love"? Plus if Othello would've taken the time to actually listen to Emilia and Desdemona and ask cassio about it himself the entire ending would've been way better. Perhaps with Iago hanged/hung.

    holding grudges against love is ancient artifacts. I don't get the handkerchief thing. What was that supposed to mean?

    That reading "trash", and bad books is helpful. Its my opinion that you're wrong, or Mr. Faulkner is, anyway. I'd prefer to absorb educational reading material, not stupid novels, dumb romances, etc. I didn't get any smarter by reading any of those. My IQ level must have dropped down the scale at an accelerating rate.

    Fair enough. Though, by reading the 'trash', you can see exactly what it is that irks you about them-- dumb romances, stupid characters, unbelievable plot, etc. Then you can leave them out of your own novel *shrugs*

    I have to be fair and say that I used to read them, but since this summer I've decided that: (what I've said above.) And, really I've never experienced romance or love so I wouldn't know how to write about it in the first place.

    Yeah. What you're saying definitely makes sense. Reading lots of garbage can definitely make you stupid, just as reading lots of challenging books makes you smarter. c:

    Does anyone else agree with me when I say that I think they're ruining all of these books by making them movies in the first place? If the movies don't hold up to expectation, then it kind if drags what ever book they brought to the big screen through the mud :(

    me too I don't really to have any of the books I publish (if/when) I publish them to be made into movie but I feel that it's hard to get popularity for the book if it isn't

    When my novels get published, I expect them to at least make a series season out of each :mrgreen: Unfortunately, though it does help in selling the book(s) to a larger group of people, it at the same time somehow minimizes the worth of the book itself in the eyes of those who actually prefer reading :/

    Not always. I think when it becomes a movie and the people who have read the book before watching the movie pass around that the book was waaaay better than the movie..... well then look at the Hunger Games everyone became obsessed with reading and rereading those books. I saw Eragon the movie loved dragons then read the book and was like Oh my god. i'm so glad I took time to read the books too.

    The entire Twilight series (no hate/offence intended) the books had such a great potential to be awesome and I felt like Ms. Meyer dropped the ball when she had it.

    Dragons are also either very old, very wise and rather boring, or very old, very wise and evil xD
    (I never forget the dragons, I just feel sorry for what they did to them)

    Actually, I'm pretty sure elves are supposed to be little guys who wear funny costumes and have pointy ears and noses. Some fix shoes in the night for inept cobblers and others work in a sweat shop in the North Pole.
