    That reading "trash", and bad books is helpful. Its my opinion that you're wrong, or Mr. Faulkner is, anyway. I'd prefer to absorb educational reading material, not stupid novels, dumb romances, etc. I didn't get any smarter by reading any of those. My IQ level must have dropped down the scale at an accelerating rate.

    Fair enough. Though, by reading the 'trash', you can see exactly what it is that irks you about them-- dumb romances, stupid characters, unbelievable plot, etc. Then you can leave them out of your own novel *shrugs*

    I have to be fair and say that I used to read them, but since this summer I've decided that: (what I've said above.) And, really I've never experienced romance or love so I wouldn't know how to write about it in the first place.

    Yeah. What you're saying definitely makes sense. Reading lots of garbage can definitely make you stupid, just as reading lots of challenging books makes you smarter. c:
