    Ok
so I just watched last weeks episode
and I'm really shook because I wasn't even really aware of the rioting and chaos that occurred after India split up (hell, I'm not really aware of it in my day-to-day life but if you showed me a map of the region i bet 100% i would not be able to find Pakistan)
Like i consider myself pretty aware of the world because i listen to NPR 24/7 but that episode really made me aware of how many tragic events go unnoticed or brushed off by people who live thousands of miles away and i think its really great that the show kinda makes people aware of wack stuff like that
(also did anyone else think the angry younger brother looked a bit like harry potter lmao)
and Yaz is amazing and should be protected at all costs

    wakarimasen replied · Nov 23, 2018

I may or may not have referred to the younger brother as Hari Puter at one point or another. xD

  • Kelpies replied · Nov 2, 2018

    Yes, I love her.

    Spoiler
I really like that she made her own sonic, I don't think any of the other doctors have done that. She also seems so socially awkward, and I think it's a good character twist.

  • lelu replied · Nov 1, 2018

Yeah, too strong on the political/environmental message. Landfills are bad, blah blah blah. Big spiders were cool, though. I like having a group of companions rather than one. Takes down the drama and you can tell the Doctor loves having a "family" of friends.

    wakarimasen replied · Nov 2, 2018

Yeah, having a group of companions takes me back to Classic Who, when the Doctor traveled with guys and girls together and it was all very fun and platonic. Rose Tyler changed that dynamic a bit and set a new standard; it's nice to be doing something different.

    lelu replied · Nov 3, 2018

Not that Rose wasn't great. But I do like the new group.

  • wakarimasen replied · Oct 31, 2018

    Not really, tbh. :p

    BookishBrook replied · Oct 31, 2018

    You seen the spiders episode?

    wakarimasen replied · Nov 2, 2018

Yup. That bit seemed a tad contrived, I don't think anything will come of it.

  • lelu
um.........JODIE WHITTAKER happened and nobody's commented since freakin' JULY?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
Can I just say I love Tim Shaw? Aka Tzim-Sha?
And the episode with the race? I will not give any spoilers but it was EPIC!!!!!!!!!!

    BookishBrook replied · Oct 31, 2018

    IT WAS AMAZING

okay hey guys i need some assistance here for story/fanfic purposes (beware this is like,,, kinda violent??)

    Spoiler
do you think getting stabbed by infinite darkness would warrant a full on regeneration or no

because if you get basically impaled by d a rk ne s s it se lf

would you need to -completely- regenerate???

    Aley replied · Jul 7, 2018

Depends on the properties of it. If it is radiation, then 10 showed his ability to take care of that. If it didnt hit both hearts, thats another chance the dr lives.

Basically, dr who writers seem to pick and choose on a coin flip or choice of drama if they want him to live or not and if so, they make some mythical excuse to fix him so his physiology is always altering aside from a few key stable things. 2 hearts for instance.

    Mea replied · Jul 7, 2018

The main thing is, I don't think you should do a "partial regeneration" because that hasn't really been shown to work except for when 10 did the weird thing with pouring it into his hand. If there were more cases where it could work, you'd think we'd see it more often. Beyond that, what you decide can mostly just serve the story. If you want him to be able to shrug it off, excuse it with some weird physiology thing like Aley said (the scene where he's poisoned with cyanide and eats random things to fix it comes to mind). If you want him incapacitated by it for a while, have it be like a normal wound that heals slowly. If you want him to regenerate, have him regenerate, and it would just be a departure from canon.

He's posh. He's British, but he really comes from another planet. He's over 2000 years old and he travels with a little blue box that can travel anywhere in time and space. He's got a stick thing that glows blue at the end and does crazy stuff. He comes from a race that watches humanity from afar and usually doesn't interfere, but he interferes a lot. He's got a blond nemesis that he has witty repartee with.
    He's Loki.
    BOOM!

    lelu replied · Jun 18, 2018

Also the long coat, and he's cute, and he can change his face, he's fought many species. He's killed good guys, but he's sorry now. Karen Gillan ran away with him, and she's been running ever since. He's in love with a woman who's kind of villainous at times. (Note: The last two only work if Nebuloki becomes a thing, which I really hope it does.)

  • BookishBrook replied · May 25, 2018

That’s a very difficult question. XD
My favourite Doctor would have to be David Tenant and I have no clue about companion.

    lelu replied · May 27, 2018

    I like ten best too

  • Mea replied · May 24, 2018

Gotcha covered. Though if you're looking for titles like The Doctor, that's not what this generator gives.

    Feltrix replied · May 24, 2018

Titles are what I was looking for.

    lelu replied · Jun 13, 2018

The Scout, The Assassin, The Lieutenant (Tennant!!), The Scribe. Also some old ones from classic Who are Corsair, Monk, Rani, Master. Sorry I can't think of more. Curious that Romana never went by anything. What do you need these for? You've probably finished writing it by now anyway.

    Feltrix replied · Jun 13, 2018

Yeah, I settled on the Interloper a while ago. He's a character in a D&D campaign I'm playing.

Series 9 soundtrack is finally out!! It's been so long that it honestly feels surreal listening to it. Also, you'll never convince me that that track from Heaven Sent is called anything other than Breaking the Wall.

    THANK YOU MURRAY GOLLLDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD

I know this is not Doctor Who-related, but seriously, how am I supposed to find a particular work?!?!!?!??!??! I can search for a member and find them, but I can't search for their works. Yes, there is a search bar labeled "Search YWS," but whenever I use it then it turns into Google and searches for stuff on the Internet. How am I supposed to read the next installment of Void by THundahguy?

    Feltrix replied · Apr 15, 2018

In this particular case, I would go to Thundahguy's profile and click on works. There may be more efficient ways to do this that I don't know about, but that's the first one that comes to mind for me.

    Mea replied · Apr 15, 2018

^That's what I usually do, but there *is* actually a search works function! And it works reasonably well. Just go to the All Literary and look under the aardvark banner to the right, and you'll see a link that says "Search Literary Works." Searching for "Void Thundahguy" found the work you're looking for. :)

The Doctor's love interests (serious ones, not just Ten's numerous flames who threw themselves at him): Rose. Then River. Who will the next one be? I'm guessing a girl with an "R" name. Like maybe Romana, his old companion from Classic Who. Or maybe Romana will regenerate into a boy and like the Thirteenth Doctor. Everyone else seems to be doing it. Thoughts?

    Mea replied · Mar 26, 2018

Honestly I have a feeling that if they go with Romana, they'll keep her a girl so they can have another lesbian romance. Alternatively, they'll lay the love interest plotline to rest for a bit. (I kinda hope they do that. I'm tired of the Doctor being in love.)
