okay hey guys i need some assistance here for story/fanfic purposes (beware this is like,,, kinda violent??)

    Spoiler
do you think getting stabbed by infinite darkness would warrant a full on regeneration or no

because if you get basically impaled by d a rk ne s s it se lf

would you need to -completely- regenerate???

Depends on the properties of it. If it is radiation, then 10 showed his ability to take care of that. If it didnt hit both hearts, thats another chance the dr lives.

Basically, dr who writers seem to pick and choose on a coin flip or choice of drama if they want him to live or not and if so, they make some mythical excuse to fix him so his physiology is always altering aside from a few key stable things. 2 hearts for instance.

The main thing is, I don't think you should do a "partial regeneration" because that hasn't really been shown to work except for when 10 did the weird thing with pouring it into his hand. If there were more cases where it could work, you'd think we'd see it more often. Beyond that, what you decide can mostly just serve the story. If you want him to be able to shrug it off, excuse it with some weird physiology thing like Aley said (the scene where he's poisoned with cyanide and eats random things to fix it comes to mind). If you want him incapacitated by it for a while, have it be like a normal wound that heals slowly. If you want him to regenerate, have him regenerate, and it would just be a departure from canon.

And then, as if written by the hand of a bad novelist, an incredible thing happened.
