E - Everyone

Youth.

“These are the best days of your life ”.
At these words I utter to myself a silent prayer.
I do not want my best days spent wasting away my days doing nothing,
Do not want them, awkward, and unexciting.

“Be young, be stupid, be reckless”.
At these words a sigh escapes my lips.
I do not know what it feels to be reckless
To go mad with excitement,
To be high on the fact that we are young.

“Always trust in your own abilities. Even when you think you
can't… you can”.
At these words I cannot help but
laugh to myself.

It seems so many forget.
Youth is sometimes the time when we are not
Confident. The time we trust nothing of ourselves.
When we are insecure, when we dream instead of act.
Youth is the time we search and search not truly understanding what
we are looking for.
It is the time when we become strong through tears wept,
And pain felt.
The time when we sometimes hate our differences but later grow to love
them.

Youth is our time to grow.
Please understand that.

My goodness! PERFECT!!!
I read that line and I thought to myself, I'm reading the letters of a genius! After reading the first part of your poem, I can not deny that you're right! I've never really thought about it in this way. We see so many signs encouraging us to get out there in world, be better than others, "rise above hate", start revolutions...
Its all just fantasy.

"It is the time when we become strong through tears wept,
And pain felt."

This is an amazing line because it reminds me of myself so much! I always think that crying shows weakness. That I should hide my pain and replace it with smiles and laughter just to seem strong and fit the prototype of a teen. But you see things differently and by God I must say I am grateful that you wrote this poem.
It is not only an inspiration but an invitation for teenagers like myself to see that we are strong in or weakness because our hardships are shaping us to be unbreakable tomorrow. Do not change this poem, it is breathtaking and powerful just as it is.

Brilliant. Just brilliant.
Write more!!! Bravo to you!!

Hey, I'll be writing you a short review.
First of all, I like your idea. I actually prefer poetry that is based on reality and yours just speaks the truth. The theme you picked was very good. I'm not wondering why you have so many likes. Yes, we've all been through that stage where we have been young and foolish but we cannot deny the fact that it was the best times of our lives.
I've not seen any spelling or grammar errors. It's just that your work were divided awkwardly that when you read, you'd have the feeling that the line is finished but then you will find its continuation at the next line. It could have worked for some other time and poem but your lines can be too long and having the next too short is kind of weird. But nonetheless, you impressed me with your work.
You have talent. Kudos! :)

Good morning. This poem is great, because it was so obviously written by a teenager. You are, however wise beyond your years for recognizing the true emptiness behind these words of encouragement. Most teenagers will grab onto these like life rafts, thinking they are the ticket to the place inside themselves they seek.

I love the way you write your exasperation at reading these. "At these words a sigh escapes my lips." I can see you rolling your eyes here. Its very funny and realistic. This poem, rather than being an anthem for teenage misdirection, conjures a feeling of youth in me. I suppose that is what ten years will do to you ;).

I am not crazy for how this poem is formatted. The first two stanza's seem nice and rhythmic, and then it gets kind of like a rant, which might have been your intention. Just having one line
"The time when we sometimes hate our differences but later grow to love"
and then the next:
"them." makes it difficult to read.

One thing I always try to do when I read over my poem after the first writing, is smooth out the form. It makes for better word flow. It elevates what you are saying without even changing what exactly you are saying!

Your poem is a great work. It is true and beautiful. I love the topic, and I hope you keep writing!
