Trapped. Trapped in the place
You go to escape the entrapment.
You vs. the powerful in a great race
To see who will be more determined
To release themselves from the pain.

You are trying to break free,
Yelling to see on which side it is louder,
On which side it will hurt you more, you see
Maybe that one-second it hurts less is better
But then it comes back, the pain.

There is no you, you're in between worlds.
You throw yourself, try to break yourself
So one side can win the race towards
The end. But there is no end, huff
And puff and thud.

Why can’t you break?
Why can’t you break the trap you made?

Then you hear it, bang.
And joy to your face as water goes down
Your cheek. But your still there, not slain,
There is no winner and no crown
You’re just both stuck and it goes round and round.

You get on your feet and know
That today is not the day you will be free.
You'll fight each day until one side takes a knee
And the other can go,
Leaving without looking back.

But when is that day?
Why doesn't it come before both sides shatter?
Is it impossible? Or may
You leave un-tattered.
Then you see a key.

A small glimmer of hope
That makes it all okay.
With it you let go of the rope
But that's only for today.
Trapped, you stay.

Hullo! Pompadour here for a quick review~

You vs. the powerful in a great race

I think it would be better if you spelled "vs." out, so it reads "versus" instead.

Yelling to see on which side it is louder,

On which side it will hurt you more, you see

I think the "you see" is a bit repetitive, and it doesn't really add anything to the poem, since you've already covered the fact that the reader is "seeing" which side is louder, etc.

There is no you, you're in between worlds.

Okay, so this doesn't make much sense. I understood what you were trying to say be hanging between two worlds, but I'd like it if you could elaborate on the "no you." I get the idea you're trying to convey here: that you're so lost in the depths of your own catastrophic cranium that you don't know who you are anymore, and it's almost like you don't exist, but there's so much you could do with this! Also, if you first say "there's no you" and then go on to say that you are trapped and stuff, it contradicts your precious statement. Nothing a little tweaking can't solve, though.

But your still there, not slain,

"Your" should be "you're."

There is no winner and no crown

This is just a lovely line. So deep. <3

Overall, this was a wonderful, wonderful topic you chose to work on, and although it was well-written, there were places where it could have been executed better. You have great imagery, but all you need to master is the "show, don't tell" bit of writing poetry. So keep writing! Keep it up!

I hope this helped.

Cheers,

Hi there. GreenLight24 here with a review for you in this fabulous March review day! :D

First of all, I really like the job you've done to make this poem relatable to a wide range if readers. The idea of becoming trapped within your own mind is something that can be applied to basically any situation in life. Often, people become so worried with very mundane things and are left unable to transcend the imaginary boundaries which they themselves erect...lol I said erect.

As far as constructive criticisms to offer you, I would suggest that you try to employ even more imagery here. Right now, you're imagery is solid and it works well towards conveying your tone, but I think stepping it up eve more could bing this poem to a whole new level of awesomeness.

I hope this short and sweet review helps you. Happy review day and always keep writing! :D

Hey!

Nic premise, but you reall need some more punctuation and organisational structure to this piece.
It is stopping it from being as good as it could be because there are quite a few technical errors with it that need fixing.

For example:
'You throw yourself, try to break yourself
So one side can win the race towards
The end. But there is no end, huff'

why give up on the punctuation here, when you use it pretty much throughout the rest of the poem? The non-continuity is something I find personally distracting. And your ideas are great, so I don't want it to detract from that.
Bit of editing is all that's needed here.

Keep writing. #BSF

This, once I clicked it, gave me the vibes that this would be somewhat deep. In a sense it is, but like I say to other poets, try to use better wording to get your desired effect.

Perhaps you didn't want a better effect, then that's fine, it's fine the way it is. The poem was very reflective of how it feels to be trapped and I like the message you emphasize as you go along with it.

Another thing I caught: grammar. Though this is a widely known correction made, but believe it or not, grammar is essential whenever you're writing anything. Change "your" in "your between two worlds..." into "you're" and read to find any other errors such as punctuation.

It's a good poem, all in all.

thank you for your review!
