Calculators Lie

Hail, comet launcher; aim for knuckle-whites
whisper between puffs: This is not a pipe
Hail, comet launcher; press down on closed eyes
saying as the thread slips through: Time to see the light

Diderot calls, cradled from the corner
That this is all wrong; Earth is the warmer
"I can't see you, you can't see me
--I can't see you"

We're busy looking at our feet,
you're busy mapping out the streets
laugh it up from the moon
you can't see me I can't see you.

Hail, planet shaker; we're waiting in the dark
sign off with tornadoes--you're sure to leave your mark.
Hail, planet shaker; paste it to stilled hearts:
Woken down and broken up--only worlds apart

and Euclid cries, burning in the downstairs
that fire is a lie; he can't possibly be there
"I can't see you, you can't see me
--I can't see you!"

Hail, star spinner; you'll have a blast today:
a car crash in Chicago, an earthquake in the bay
Hail, star spinner; you'd hate to love to make
but don't forget the apples--you never thought they'd take

as Darwin crawls, sweating out the fever
that comes with the claws, Genie blinks a beaver!
"I can't see you, you can't see me, I can't see you!"

-chorus-

*short instrumental breakage*

-chorus-

We're just skeletons in sneakers
(you can't see me,
I can't see you)
we're only bones in shoes.

I really like this song, the lyrics mostly. The demo is kind of cool. It's okay. Definitely keep writing, though. More punctuation would be helpful, especially periods. That's my advice. Good luck! :D

That is AWESOME. I especially like the whole "I can't see you, you can't see me" thing.

That awkward moment when you jump out a window because your friend jumped out a window, then you remember that your other friend can fly.
— Rick Riordan, The Ship of the Dead
