I saw it ahead of me.
That light
It called to me like a lighthouse
is a bright light to ships in the deep
blackness of night.
In the pit of my stomach
I felt a hunger
to go closer,
to be with the light.
Feelings arose in me
I had not felt before.
A starving that seemed
to override all other things
in my life.
Gaining ground, getting closer
I also gained anticipation
I’ve never wanted anything so badly.
Finally, I was there.
I had reached the light!
Throwing open the door to the McDonalds
I paused and turned to the neon arches
that led me to this oasis
in the midst of concrete traffic
Thank you God for making that sign
so bright
for those who need
fries at midnight.

Haha! You are so funny! I love this and your Tik Tok parody. First class!
I love it!
Great ending...hilarious! Keep up the good work-KD
I loved it . I also love fries.
You should write a poem about chocolate or Superman Ice cream.
Thanks to all!!! I tried to think of a clever title for this poem, but was having a hard time thinking one up. I really did want the ending to be a surprise... Oh well, maybe next time... Thanks again!
Oh my gosh! This is to *die* for! I loved this. *cracks up with laughter*
The ending, one word: awe-some.
Bah, unlike Matt I started reading it thinking your were a sailor lost at sea. Or like a dead person going to the light at the end of the tunnel. But you weren't! You're idea was MUCH better!
So, I think you should change the title so we get more surprise though.
Otherwise, nice work.

Haha! I love the ending of this! Actually, I started reading it thinking you were a moth.
I think "bad" should be "badly". I like the way you said "concrete traffic", like the traffic is so busy that it's impossible to get through. I love how light-hearted and funny this poem is, when it started out seeming like it would be a very serious topic. I think you could change the title to reflect this, to make it seem like a serious poem and then surprise the reader at the end. great job!
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHA!! I love this!! It's really funny to me. I dunno maybe I'm insane....anyway good punctuations (I'm pretty sure I spelled that wrong) from my POV. I don't think you should have told the reader the entire secret in the title though. Good Job though, I almost choked with laughter!
