If I walked a mile in your shoes

I wonder what I'd see.

If I walked a mile in your shoes

I wonder who I'd be

Would I be a lawyer?

Would I enforce the law?

Would I say "open wide"

Just to poke and prod?

Could I travel the world?

Would it be okay?

Could I see the things you see

Each and every day?

Would it matter to you

If I never showed my face?

Could I always be your friend

Even if I was disgraced?

If I walked a mile in your shoes

I wish I knew what I could see.

If I walked a mile in your shoes

I hope it would help me find me.
