Tall and big, like daddy.
Between Liberty and Church street
It was such a feat when I could go and visit
To meet all his friends and pretend to fly
I'd pretend I was superwoman and flew from the top
I wanted to work there with daddy one day
But it would only be a dead end
I'm no superhero, I couldn't even lend a hand.
I was six when the bombs went off,
Fires blazed and hearts dropped
It used to be big and tall
Now all I could do was watch it fall
It started out like any other day
We pinky swore and I told him I loved him more
Right after recess I knew something was wrong
The teachers were crying and the safety was gone
I don't know how to describe how I felt
The pain of losing him, I had never dealt
Even thirteen years later, I'm still a mess
Stuck in time, as that young school girl in a dress
I went through life as I was told
Tried to overcome it and fit in a mold
Got into all the right schools and did the right thing
Still dreamed of being a superhero; flying like a kite
The day really changed my life,
Took a sharp hit with a knife
I stopped caring day by day
Just hoped I may see him
Eventually things turned worse
Pills and therapy were a curse
I thought about where he must be
Did he miss me? Could he even see?
I did the unthinkable; it's better than pain
I waited for a day when the city filled with rain
I went up to the roof of the rebuilt model
Walking almost in a toddle
Scared and hurt wanting freedom badly
I looked up at heaven, “I love you daddy”
I stood on the edge, and knew this was it
My heart would be free from the grip of terrorists

To start off I think its a quite good poem. You tried to put some emotions in its theme.I actually like the way you narrated your incident. The one thing that I would like to say it really made me emotional when I read it.
nice
I feel like I have no right to make any critiques to this poem. It honestly its pretty much flawless. Just the description of it drew in and wanted to read it. The whole thing was very emotional and visual, and I got really into it. Each line had so much of a representation to it, and I really, really enjoyed it. I would think if would be awesome if you wrote another poem like 10 or 20 years after of her life now and looking back on it more, but besides that I think this poem is incredible! A++++
Jack here for a review.
Wow. I literally and speechless, I don't really know what do say, there is nothing to fix, it is beautiful, it made my day, it was sad, yes so very sad. I loved it, it really but into perspective on how an act of a few individuals can effect so many people, and not only from the action they did, but from the pain they receive from the dead of that action, or how horrified they are that any human being can even be capably of doing such a horrible thing.
This poem held so much remarkable emotion, every line was placed perfectly, it is something I cant but in words how I though about this poem, it was so good, it made me feel like crying, it made me scared, even though it happened so long ago, it can happen again. It makes me sad to know this can happen, that it did happen. Imagining how it happened, how people felt in the towers, what was going through there heads, in a surprising way, this poem really gets me thinking about the meaning of life.
Thankyou for that, I think it truly was something amazing, to get someone thinking about such things, you really need a great writer, something that you are indeed. So I really have nothing else to complain about, except maybe the fact that this is just one big stanza, it might help if you split it up.
Anyway thankyou. You made my day. Thumbs up from me, remember always keep writing.
Have a great day!!
Jack
The rhythm is great it really grips the reader. It's beautiful and powerful. I was only 2 soon to 3 when the twin towers were struck, but I do remember a news report on the 1 year anniversary. This poem brought back those memoiries.
I love how this poem flows and the simple lines. It's really good
Thank you!
Uh . . . did she commit suicide at the end?
Well, that was . . . well, depressing.
I'm honestly just kinda in shock at the moment.
Wow.
Uh, ok, so I will tell you the honest truth; you have me at a loss, but in a good way.
Like, I'm literally at a point where I could start crying because of what you just displayed to me, this awful story of a young woman going through life broken because of what happened that fateful day thirteen years ago. It also gets to me because I was almost five when it happened, so I'm in the realm that this girl was in terms of the fact that I actually remember it happening. Like I remember I was at home (I was in preschool), and I was sitting on my parents' bed, watching the news with my mom. I saw the second plane fly into the south tower live.
Damn, I was four years old. It's just sad that that is the oldest memory I have of my life.
And then it just gets worse from there with this chick.
Now, there was a few reasons I didn't; One: I cried out all my tears involving this when I watched a documentary on the jumpers (that was hard to watch btw). Two: Your rhythm kept breaking, and that took me out of the moment.

You would be on a great flow, great rhythm, and then suddenly, there would be an awkward transition, and I would be totally taken out of what was being said, and the scene itself. And then you'd transition to a different rhythm and the same thing happened.
I counted three times that it happened for me personally.
Please fix that. PLEASE.
If you do, this will the closest thing to the perfect poem that I've ever seen.
Excellent. Keep writing.
