This is my darkest hour,
Should I chase money, fame and power?
I left you in the wilderness
While I went for my success
I'm sorry, it was my mistake, I just left you, I had better plans.

I hope that one day, you could come back
Tell me you didn't plan on leaving me
You could come back and belive in me
I'm sorry, it was my mistake, I changed at my own risk.

I never planned on taking you on the ride with me
But somehow you never changed to me,
I'm sorry, it was my mistake,
I paved my path to a regretful life
I am striving to survive

I'm sorry, for just standing there
Watch you fall off, the highest cliff
I'm sorry it was my mistake
Would you come back and be me again?

i love this poem. To me it kind of means that sometimes we want to further ourselves but lose sight of what is really important to us and by the we realize just what we had it is too late and all you can do is hope that you can fix it with time

The writer I would say really has the capture of what the heart says but eventually the words used, though are showing perfectibility in the language, are quite shallow. But as I said it really has captured me as an individual and reminds me of the importance of being meek and repentant.

Chris:)

The poem may have the simplest words but it has the strongest most deep meaning to me.... thanks :)

i love this poem, some times in life we decide to go our separate parts, elevating ourselves and sometimes some people get stringed on... its not that we willfully do it but how do we let go of our entire past? i think this is what this poem is about and i could relate to it and i love it....
