Carry My Heart

Those once great memories now faded
Like color stuck in sunlight
Those bright and vibrant hues
Slowly disappearing with that once great dream

The stars in the night sky don't twinkle as much as they used to
They fade into the grey of the moonlight
And the wind blows,
carrying my heart along with it
through the swaying trees and oceanic breeze,
bringing my heart to yours, as one.

To complete that emptiness
the beginning of pure happiness
until the end of our days
this strayed heart will be yours

Reminiscent of the past
Cautious of the future
and hopeful love washes upon the shore

Helloooo.

I've never read a poem written by two people so this will be interesting :D

So firstly.
I LOVED the imagery. The first stanza painted this beautiful picture in my mind. Loved the selection of words and how you made them stick together.

I also liked the part about the two hearts completing each other. It reminded me of the movie Up, and how adorable Carl and Ellie were :')
Come to think of it, this could be perfectly apt for the movie :D

The imagery, and the wind carrying along part from the poem reminded me of the house floating among the skies :P

This was a beautiful poem, and the last stanza summed in up beautifully.

Rating: 9/10

Hi Isuki and Anon!

I'm here to review this lovely piece of yours both! I very much loved it. It brings out a lot of emotion and I can see why you titled it. You are very descriptive in your words and it works well. I really enjoyed the third stanza because it is emotionally well written. For two hearts to find each other, it does very well complete that hole that people feel when they don't have someone whom they can share their life with. It reminds me of many of elderly couples who pass away soon after their significant others because they don't have that other half anymore. It goes to show that people are very close and I find this poem explores that option very well.

Good job with your descriptions and I can't find anything wrong with your grammar or spelling so nicely done with that front. I think you could describe a bit more? Bring in a bit more of the topic but I think you draw the readers in very well especially near the end. I hope you keep at this and I will definitely love to read more from the both of you!

Sincerely,
Soulkana

Hello isuki113r1!

Sorry if I got your username wrong... XD. This is a really cool poem! I just don't exactly know why it's called "Carry My Heart", It just doesn't make sense to me. But hey, it's the writers choice. This poem had me spellbound, it's so good. I get the feeling that the two people in this poem (You and anonymousx) without each other would not be whole.

~Kelpies.

You're nice :)

I don't remember why we called it that. It was about a year ago that we wrote it lol...probably because we carry each other's hearts?
