He sips on his coffee
and remembers when love was brewing,
moulding them in feelings
warmer than the mould that holds his coffee
----------
He looks out of the window
and sees himself dwindling in streets,
holding her hand and jumping over puddles
This monsoon had been prolonged, the reporter had said
our courtship had lasted even longer, he thought.
----------
The channel flickers on the radio he is listening to,
breaking his tryst with the outside
He rubs the small droplets of water off the antenna
and the song that plays then, he remembers, was their favorite
He feels his palms on her waist as she swings along
The beats are gusty, but her moves were exuberant, he knew
----------
He closes his eyes and when he opens them,
for a moment he doesn’t blink
what he sees is her face, exquisite as ever
then his pupils broaden and he realizes it’s her picture,
the last one of her life; poised on the bureau
The picture is beautiful
but lifeless
just as his wife now is

Hey.... *waves with a broad grin*
Very lyrical, very melancholic, very nostalgic, very maudlin, very touching, very romantic and very graceful.
Even in its subtlety, it's a punch to the heart. I read it out loud to myself and the intensity of the pain that I felt just magnified. I like the pain I got from your poem; it was worth it.
However, this is a review, hence the irritating criticism. The structure of this poem is very good, but, it would've been professional with proper punctuation. Please, don't ruin a lyrical work with grammatical errors. Also the capitalization of the words, even in a poem, is important; it's a format that needs to be followed.
Overall, a great work worth a thousand reads. Please, continue the good work.
Hey shaon
Thanks for the review. And I had typed this in a hurry. Realized the punctuation so corrected it before posting to my original blog. And surely I will try to keep up to the expectations
Hi @ishitadutt !!
First of all, great work,congrats.
I enjoyed it a lot.The monsoon atmosphere that you have created in your poem was so beautiful and perfect that I could imagine each scene while reading each para.
Secondly, the choice of words,I liked the way you have woven the words. You have created romance, melancholia, nostalgia at the same time and that's what is the beauty of this piece for me.
But we can't ignore punctuation while writing. There are some mistakes in punctuation in your work.Do rectify it.
All in all, it's good poem.
Thank you so much :') and yeah I will rectify them
Hi, Hunith here to review your work; shot in heaven
First of, this is a great piece.
I really enjoyed it-- of course; after i had read it for about 4 times.
The thing is, your work needs the cooperative faculties of a highly imaginative mind to follow from the start.
That's the one weakness of your poem; that is -- from my point of view.
look at this:
Now you see, i was floating in heaven until This monsoon had been prolonged, the reporter had said slapped me back to earth.
I was confused. that is at the first time. until i read through cautiously, committing every word into film. That was when i understood.
Probably, (i'm not trying to change what you've written). All i'm saying is, try to make it a little easier for other readers to follow. Because the character was day dreaming in his memories whiles that reporter was in the real world; reporting.
Anyway, I liked Your presentation, t'was pretty stylish and attractive. This, i believe was what made me read it in the first place.
I don't really have much against this work. it clearly has been well done. However, there were some small issues like missing full stops.
I don't know whether you decided not to bring them or you forgot, nonetheless; you had already included commas so, it was imperative to bring full stops.
All the same, this poem is great. I was literary there as it happened. Goodwork.

~Hunith~
Hey thanks for the review
And for your first confusion, I believe that you were following the title literally while reading the poem. But I'm glad gou made an effort to get along
And yeah I relaised the missing full stops but had already posted so will correct after all the reviews
