They say the scent begins in bloom,
But I have felt it in the fold
where petals hide, and shadows loom,
not where the colour are bold.
It lives between the bloom and bruise,
a hush the sunlight doesn't see.
It stays with those who never choose,
to shine, but still learn how to be.
I found it's centre, soft and small and there,
I heard my own soul call.

Hi hira, your poem stood out to me as beautiful, so I thought I would leave a review, because I had a few thoughts
You focus on scent. To me, scent means multiple things, such as the journey of a soul, awakening to its own self, to seeing beyond what is seen, to hearing what cannot be heard in a physical place, to being able to witness your own beginning and end from outside of yourself. Others may say that this begins with what can be tracked or recorded, but I have felt it in what others do not see, I have felt it in what others may dismiss as shadows or faults. Your words flow so gracefully and beautifully.
Scent lives between what starts and what holds you back, what grows and what kills, what light cannot see and what darkness would never choose. I love your line about those who 'learn how to be'. But, 'be' what? Being those who make the choice to stay in a world that means everything, but nothing, to them. Those who seek the scent in the first place, those who are aware of the bruises and folds and places that have never seen the sun.
Perhaps you meant its, unless you meant that it is centered. Indeed, it is small, but it is not always a place to be alone. I love your use of alliteration in this phrase. You finished this poem in an extraordinary way. Bringing it back to the soul, a message that stood out to me throughout the entire poem.
Lovely work. I look forward to reading more of your poems.
Take care,
Ellie

Hii, Aster here!!
First, OMFG, your work is so majestic, I love love loveee it!!
What I could understand was that you showed beauty in what lies in between love and hurt, friend and foe, joy and sadness. Normal things which are often ignored, like quiet nights who have their own beauty.
Loved your piece, hope to read more!
