dudeeeee
i feel like i've been watching you grow into your poetic voice every time i read a new poem. like you have cultivated such a specific, special feel to everything you write. it's incredible. i wish i could say it's all relatable, but i feel like the niche little moments you describe are far too personal for that. either way, everything you write is like such a punch to the gut tbh. a good one though!
like these lines ?? idk there's something so beautiful about this specifically for me. everyone has a desire not just for love, but for a profound, poetic kind of it. i think that's why love poetry is so touching.
also i'm loving the whole "the way women are written about" part as well; women are usually seen as muses, embodiments of beauty and virtue. i think that contributes to the idealized, almost perfect idea of love that you've portrayed here. we all want a beautiful and lasting relationship. it's timeless. i don't think it necessarily even means the narrator's partner is a woman, just that they want to love them with the same reverence of a classic love story. it's such a universal feeling.
this has to be the highlight of the poem. i feel like the deepest form of validation comes from knowing that someone wants you to be a part of their life. that's what this whole line is about. honestly, it doesn't even have to be romantic. without all of the previous stanzas, i could see this existing in a lot of various themed poetry. it's beautiful, yet casual. it's short, but it's impactful.
i could ramble on about probably every line here, but those are my favourites. there's something so deeply tender about this poem that's different from the rest of your love poetry. idk it just makes me feel more.
but yeah this was stunning. write more!!!!
best,
chi
Good Morning/Afternoon/Evening/Night(whichever one it is in your part of the world),
Hi! I'm Kate and I'm here to leave a quick review!!
Anyway let's get right to: Kate's Line by Line Reactions;
Oooh this is quite the cute little poem here. I think perhaps one of the simpler poems I have run into in sometime but that's not a bad thing at all. In fact I think this language you use here, that quite direct approach there in terms of what exactly you're trying to make it say there really lends itself well to showcasing how powerful these feelings are just how much of an effect this love is having in the moment too. I think that really lends itself very well towards the message of the poem which I think you capture with that last line there where you want this wonderful feeling to last and for it to always be there.
I think that's a beautiful way to do that there. The general feeling this poem creates is also really adorable. Its not necessarily this sort of animalistic urge or just passion, its this tender imagery of love that just only really comes out when a relationship has gone on for some time and people are very comfortable with each other. I think its a lovely extra touch for this to really show that image of staying with your love.
Aaand that's it for this oneee!!!
As always remember to: Take what you think was helpful and forget the rest!
