These Thoughts of Mine

PreviousNext

These thoughts of mine blossom and grow,

They say the more you read the more you know.

I can’t find a way to stop thinking;

It would be like trying to stop blinking

---------------------

These thoughts of mine try to cause trouble

As they form and change on the double.

Every time I think a strange thought,

I dismiss it immediately before I’m distraught.

---------------------

These thoughts of mine are sometimes fun!

I can think up an adventure before the day’s done.

They swirl and bubble, they never stop,

Before the end of the day I am ready to drop.

---------------------

Although these thoughts change too fast,

I’m glad that not even one would last.

If my body wasn't here my mind might soar,

If these thoughts stayed forevermore.

Amazing flow and smoothness.
You continue to amaze me with your brilliant thinking and unique way of writing poetries, woman.
To be really...but really honest, the punctuation is off.But I see that at least here it does not matter that much because it does not ruin the work or anything negative.I would prefer ~
instead of ---- but that is just my opition because I like it more interesting and 'curvy' if that makes any sense to you.But still this is the writer's choise and it does not affect the work.
For a first poetry, you had a very good job...I wouldn't be able to write such a thing that well if it was my first time.I will not be able after the 556th time, also, for sure. XD
If you chould change something, you could change the punctuation. But who listens to me?
Good job.

I'll listen to you. I can't believe I didn't get any notifications when you wrote these reviews. xP

Thank you for reviewing my crap! xD

I haven't read much poetry, but this is good! I get a vivid picture when I read it. I really know what you're talking about when you said,

"These thoughts of mine blossom and grow

They say the more you read the more you know

I can’t find a way to stop thinking

It would be like trying to stop blinking"

So true. As a reviewer, I'm supposed to give constructive criticism. Don't think "Oh here it comes" because there wasn't much wrong. Some little errors like how the words flow, but it was incredible for...did you say it was your first? Anyway, I couldn't write like that. It was good, and keep writing!

Thank you so much @AnnGrace! And yes, this is my first poem. Good luck to you with your writing! Again, thanks. :)

Hello, good morning Death Boy.

So, you have submitted your first poem, I am so proud of you Hermana pequena! To begin with, your format is great, this is easy to read and perfectly spaced. I see as I read it that you have no punctuation at all; but that is okay because poetry doesn't have to have punctuation, and I really like yours without it! All poets have their own styles of writing, and it seems that you are already defining yours.

punctuation/spelling/grammar

In poetry, grammar is not always important, it really depends on how you write; either way, you do not have any doesn't-even-make-sense-in-poetry grammar issues, so good that! Your spelling is great, I do not see any words spelled wrong or used weird.

Flows Like a River
The flow of a poem is very important. If it doesn't flow, then when you read it, the poem seems jerky and unbalanced. When the flow is off, the content of the work is a lot harder to comprehend. Your poem has a great flow, there is just the right amount of syllables in pretty much all the lines. I did say 'pretty much.' The only thing that popped out and threw off the flow are these lines,

But although these thoughts change too fast

I’m glad that not one would last

I feel like you need another word in the second line, it seems cut off almost. I don't know what you could add that would still make sense and do well, so it would probably be fine to just leave it.

[b]Your Poem Rocks[/s]
I have tried to write poems like this a few times, but they always end way too jumbled and cliché. You did a great job on it though! When I started reading it, the ending seemed to rushed, but then those last two lines wrapped it up perfectly, like a bow on a present.

You did a great job! So always stay awesome and never forget to-

Keep on Writing

Thanks for the review! I agree with you about those two lines, I'll be editing it a bit. Thanks again!

Hello! herbgirl here for a review!
So, I really like the idea the poem expresses. The way you talk about ideas and thoughts just swirling around and disappearing, a messy jumble of stuff, is something that I think many people can relate to, particularly writers. I thought the way expressed the feeling of all these thought jumbling around was very nice.
Now, while I liked this poem, I do think that it could be even better. The main thing that I, personally, would like to see different is punctuation. Now, I know that through different poets you get different styles, and some people like punctuation and some don't, but I think that adding a little punctuation to this piece would benefit it. It might make it clearer in general, since I was a bit confused at the beginning, trying to see how the poem was flowing. It might also help overall deliver your message better. However, like I said, this is a little nitpick, and different writers have different styles, so it may not be for you, but I recommend it.
Anyways, thanks for the read!

Thanks for the review! As I've said before, this is my first poem so I'm nervous about what people are going to think, but I guess people liked it! I see what you mean about punctuation but I still think I like it without it. :) Again, thanks for the review @herbgirl!
