Never Leave Your Side

Love is a string,
That is always on our hearts.
Placed around like a ring,
We will never be apart.

The string is weak,
Yet holds us, oh so tight.
It lets us seek,
For the one that’s right.

When we get hurt,
The string gets thin.
Our hearts look like dirt,
We drop silently like a pin.

But never will it break,
It always gives us hope.
Never will it take,
Back the words that it wrote.

These words so sweet,
None of them a lie.
They are a treat,
I will never leave your side.”

I absolutely adore this piece of art. It was well done, you used the ABAB thyme scheme and made the poem actually flow and have meaning, the triple crown of poetic work, for many people it's kind of difficult at times (for me included), but the only complaint I have is the apart and hearts done rhyme, one is plural, the other singluar and by definition can't rhyme, but I wouldn't change anything about your poem. It was was well done. Keep Writing!
