My help, comes from the lord. Those would think it means that when you need help, the lord sends it. However it means that my help that I give, is only possible from the lord.

My eyes feel the burden of the bright sun on my face. Crust from my lids tempt me to shut them again. But I force myself awake. It has been nearly a week since my encounter with Tobi the angel. He has guarded my back each night and watched my steps during the day. He gets pretty torn up over the night shift, and as well as parts of the day. What I don’t get the most is why would god send him to me? Am I really that important enough to accept this kind of security? I watch him gracefully move to my cabinet and pull out a towel to clean his face off. Just under the cabinet there is my satchel. Actually Naomi’s satchel. I was a quiet kid in school but Naomi invited herself to be my friend. And that satchel is proof of it. So I get up, pass by Tobi as he cleans himself off and grabs my bag. “ready for school already?” he asks, smiling weakly through his scars. “ Getting ready right now” I reply, searching aimlessly through the bag. He finishes and walks towards me. “y’know I seen you with her. You seem happy” I glance back up at him “so dose Tobi approve?” I reply adding a sarcastic sting to the end. He laughed a bit and replied “actually I do. I can see her heart”. I laugh “you can see her heart? What about her soul can you see that too”. he looks back “actually yes I can, that’s what I meant.” I paused for a moment and realized he was serious. “well can I get that ability or is that an angel only gift?” his face grew irritated almost like his said this a hundred times “how many times do I have to tell you, that you were built with more abilities then all of the angels in the heavens. That includes me. So yes you can!” I drifted off into my own little world, pondering what he said. Then shooting a glance at him. “gime it.” I say sharply “I cant” he replies back. “but I’m your superior so gime” he rolls his eyes “ask god for the gift, cas I don’t have it to give.” Offended I step back and look at him. Then I make a make a sneaky smirk and reply. “Fine. Ill ask him! And he will give me the ability to see hearts and souls?” he replied “yep” so I tested his theory. I prayed out “GOD GIVE ME THE ABILITY TO SEE SOULS AND HEARTS AND THINGYS!” I waited 5 seconds then looked at the angel. “see? Nothing. Maybe my prayer thingy is broke.” still polishing his sword he says “I may be under you in ranks, and u can think u can boss me around but god gives his gifts when, and how he pleases.” I sighed, hearing that for the 100th time after my dad preached it. So I grabbed my bag and went off to school. And as usual. Tobi followed.
I walked into the building and Naomi walked up to me. Her eyes seemed a bit different today, a little more sparkly then normal. “Michael!” she screamed out as I waved from a distance. Since a week has passed we hung out a lot. I met a few of her friends. We all went out for movies, ice-cream, or just being crazy in a park. But now you can say were good friends. All of her friends were Christian and ofcorse knew my dad. But today it was just her waiting for me. We both liked it more when it was just us two. We didn’t like to talk much so we shared that main feature in common. But I couldn’t get over her eyes. They seemed to glow more the closer I got. She embraced me with a warm hug and asked how my morning went. “good” I replied, I don’t tell anyone about my angel. Not even her. Because part of me still believed it was just part of my head. We walked to class together till I noticed something from the corner of my eye.
A person I see regularly. His face was normal complexion hidden under his hood. He glanced at my quickly and I noticed the 2 hollow holes where his eyes once were. Not only was it empty but dark. Almost as if it was in the form of the skin as bone. Although I could still feel his eye on me I couldn’t see it. I saw darkness. Nothing. Then he looked away and walked on. My nerves hit hard, as Goosebumps crawled over my skin. I shrugged my backpack on and walked to Naomi’s locker were we both kept our stuff. My locker was broke and people often took stuff out of it. So we shared one. As I put my backpack away Naomi studied my face. “are you ok? You look pale” I shook my head and looked back at her “no im fi..” then I noticed almost everyone in the hall has hollowed eyes. I stood there even more petrified then earlier. Naomi studied my face again. I glanced back and she stared deep into my eyes, almost like she was trying to see what I was seeing. “what is it?” I rubbed my eyes and finished unpacking. “I didn’t get alota sleep last night that’s all”. she laughed sheepishly and patted my back. “ok just try and get more sleep today ok?” she smiled back still sort of confused. We went to class but I tried not to look at people’s faces. Nearly everyone had those scary eyes. Naomi didn’t, so I found myself constantly fixed on her eyes as I tried to regain sanity. I was surprised she was completely ok with it.
Lunched rolled by and she noticed that I didn’t want to people view today. That was odd because now we normally go there to avoid the crowds of people and just watch them. Today we went there but I had this uneasy look to my face. Almost everyone had these skull like eyes full of shadows even when they looked towards the sun. I was surprised Naomi didn’t get too weird’ed out and decide to leave me for the day. She was one of the only few that looked normal. School passed and as I got used to it I noticed a few weren’t totally hollow, just had a bit of light inside of it, just nothing filled. As the bell rang I was nervous still. I ran out of the building and saw something familiar that I didn’t see all day. And I was glad to. A pair of wings on a back of a man. I tackled him fast and yelled “Omg! Its been a crazy day! Help me Tobi!. As the man turned around his face wasn’t Tobi’s. “excuse me” he said in a deep tone. My eyes grew wide “You’re the other angel?” he stared back at my seriously, paused and said “can you please get off of me? “I stood up and watched him, he stood taller then Tobi and looked as if he had more War medals then him. His outfit had a more professional look and I noticed the long double edged sword on his hip, followed by a shield on his back. as he brushed himself off “who. Are you.” I asked “I am Michael the archangel.” he replied. Glancing back at me. my eyes grew wide and I threw myself to the ground again then quickly got to my feet remembering what Tobi said. I studied him in awe. His wings were black with the blood stain of war, his face held the scars of many fights. His sword and his sheild had the thin rust of battle. He towered over me as I sheepishly replied “are you the angel watching the other kid?” he stood still. I had the impression asking an archangel a question like that was an insult but he replied “Im here to check on Tobi and Letta. Please lead me to Tobi.” without haste I marched fast to my house. The archangel sighed as he followed me, not appreciating my respectful march.
We finally reach my room and Tobi notices my expression as I enter. “so I guess you got your gi-” he stops as he notice Michael walk in. “Sir” Tobi says, bowing to one knee. I decided to knee next to Tobi untill Tobi nudged me and I stood back up. “Sergeant Tobi. Progress report” Tobi reaches into his pocket and pulls out a small tablet with marks and a pen hanging from it. ”first night we had 3 groups of Deceiving Spirits. A few slipped through. After that The colonies of fear marched in. they were fully obliterated.-” he continues on with his report as I stand in awe of the archangel. I was petrified. I didn’t know much about them. Nor did I know if it could attack me! After a hour had passed and Tobi finished, Michael nodded his head and turned to leave. I grabbed his hand “Wait.” I said fast. Michael looked back at me, with a serious face “What?” I pause, still awed “can I have your autograph for my dad?”. the door slammed shut.
Tobi stood back up and glanced at me. “how was school?” I stared at the door and then looked at him. It took a while to process his question then when I got it, I had to remember my answer. Then I finally spoke. “Umm kind of freaky. I think I need to get more sleep. I seen everyone with dark hollow eyes.” Tobi paused, then laughed. “ I bet it scared you huh?” I nodded fast. Then he reached down under the bed and pulled my mirror out, he held it up to me and I saw my own face, like the others mine were hollowed out too. Except instead of dark inside it was light. Dim light. As I looked into the dim light, it grew more beautiful, I had to strain my eyes for it looked so beautiful. He pulled the mirror away and looked at me “The window to your soul is your eyes” he said, putting stuff away. I pondered that, then remembered the prayer I prayed. Maybe it came true. “so how dose this new vision work?” I asked. Tobi stopped putting things away then put his attention twards me. “were eyes normally were, the windows have enlarged. Now you may see the whole view of there soul. The dark hollowed ones are the ones who do not know our father. The ones with hollow eyes that have light in them, know what the prince did for there sins and accepted it. But are satisfied with only the knowledge. The eyes that are full and gleaming with life are the ones who strive to progress.” I tilt my head and reply “don’t you mean the more christian’ey ones?” he laughed “there is no such thing as christian’ey. However your soul burns bright only when you try to dig in. imagine a coal oven. The more you add wind the brighter it is. Now if a oven with 15 coals and a oven with 5 coals were by each other. And you fanned each at the same rate. Each would stay the same as the other. However if u give one a big gust of wind and the other a continual bursts of air, which will burn brighter?” I answerd “The one with the continual air?” he smiles “yes. So people with the full eyes are digging in more. And the more you dig the more air is busted at you. If you stop, it goes away.” Tobi then turned around and went back to work. I thought on that. Then I remembered Naomi’s eyes. Her eyes burned with a fiery white passion. And it all made sense after that. My new power from god really made me happy. He answerd my prayers! I got a new superpower! Whats next?! I soaked in the happiness for a moment till I heard the front door shut. It wasn’t 10. My mom usualy gets out by then. So I sat up. I grabbed my bat I listened around the corner. “Son? Are you home” I heard a man say. Suddenly I recognized the voice. “DAD!” I yelled hopping up. I grabbed Tobi’s arm. He didn’t want to follow me, he had an un easy look on his face. “Cmon meet my dad! Maybe you already did he’s a prophet! He knows a lot about this stuff and he can probably see you!” I dragged him with me. I was glad my dad came back. I had so many questions for him. And mainly the one I didn’t want Tobi to hear. I wanted to know if there was any way I could help Tobi. My dad could give me my help. I can finally help for once.
As I turned the corner from my room my dad surprised me, by meeting me at my door, we paused, staring at each other, face to face. My face grew shocked as I realized what I was looking at. I couldn’t wrap my mind around it. Not one bit. Tobi’s hand touched my shoulder as I stood there shocked. As I stared into his hollow dark eyes. My eyes filled with the pain at the realization what I saw. He continued to look at me with a confused expression. I can feel the confusion in his stare. Finally he speaks “Maybe I need some rest, the bags under my eyes are terrifying you I think” I nodded and turned around, shutting the door. I gazed at Tobi next. Confused and desperate. I know he could sense the pain. And I could tell he knew the whole time. “Your dad fell from us. a few years ago.” I sat down, tears built up as he continued “He did something he wasn’t proud of. And all of the angels in heaven watched as he closed the door.” Tobi paused, then looked away. “and? “I muttered, trying to hold the tears back. “what happened next” the angel sighed deep. “he left us.” a moment passed as I processed all of this. My fists clenched tight as my wrists tightened, my tears burned into a rage, like a burning stove, my heat was barely held back as I replied “did god send him an angel too?” Tobi didn’t reply. And I shot back at him “You all just watched him walk away! And you didn’t send him an angel! Instead you came to me? God sent you to me? Why!” rage blinded my eyes with tears of pain, It felt a energy release from inside of me, but I didn’t care. he opend his mouth to speak but I ran out of my room, slamming the door shut and running outside. Nearly knocking down Mom’s little fence, and stumbling over her Garden Décor. I made my way to the school, I heard Tobi following, yelling out but I didn’t care. After a while the yells sounded more desperate, like he was in pain. I didn’t care and continued to the school, well past the time anyone would be hanging around at. I made my way to the place me and Naomi would sit. I sat with my back laying on the Generator. I stared up. My eyes fixed on a cloud as I felt my nerves calm. Why did I act so harshly. It didn’t feel like me at all. I felt I had to eject it before going anywhere. At least I felt better now. Then I remembered what I told Tobi. What I told him. And his Patience during it. He didn’t lecture me about God’s place. Or did he make some smart remark. I sighed, then constructed a apology in my head. I began to get up. Feeling bad. I looked up to the cloud again. Sighed. Then I Heard a noise. I glanced down the hill
A Commotion was going on. There was a fight of 2 older men. One was wearing white and the other black. I rushed closer and I noticed Tobi. He was standing there with his sword drawn, he wore no shield to block the other man‘s attack but this wasn’t no ordinary man. He carried 2 daggers that dripped red as he hunched over. His body was covered in a unrealistic black fur. The duel daggers it wielded were jagged on each side. It appeared as if it could snag anything just by getting near it. As one of his blades struck Tobi‘s blade his other was quick to attack again. Tobi was completely unmatched and seemed as if he was ready to die. The beast took a moment to look at me . My Heart began to tear a little as I recognized the creature. It was not as if I have seen him before. It just seemed like I knew what his name was. Rage. I could see the burning fire in its eyes. It smiled at me, and I could see its toung wrap around its gapped jagged teeth. I never believed the saying would be so real. Rage has killed my best friend. My own rage. I fell to my knees. And looked up onto the heavens. “God! Please help me Save Tobi! I am sorry! Please help me!” I shouted out to the sky. At first nothing happened. Then. Time stopped. Everything around me stood in a strategic color as a Humbling voice thundered down. “My son. I have Heard your prayers. I have given you a gift. What have you done with it?” I looked questioning at the sky “What have I done? I was supposed to do something?” then he replied “ You have The Eyes of discernment. Not only can you discern the wicked from the wise, but you have the sight to see demons and angels.” then I said “but how do I save Tobi? What must I do? I cannot simply take a demon on myself.” then his voice replied back, “You must reverse what you have done. Tell Tobi you forgive him and I will take care of the rest” as I listened to his voice fade, life slowly began to come back to order. I saw Tobi nearly on his knees, struggling to breath as this monster walked to him. He raised both daggers in a crossed position, the beast was ready to finish him off. then I touched Tobi’s shoulder. He looked up and I spoke “Tobi, this isn’t your fault. Im sorry for how I acted. Please forgive me.” he looked up at me. And then I heard the most suprising thing. the beast scoffed at the scene behind me. And it spoke “Forgive you? Why did you even forgive him? He watched your father fall. Your Father is now a lie. Because of him.” I took my arm off Tobi. Then turned towards the beast. “I may not understand why god allowed him to fall. nor do I care. I forgive Tobi. And I don’t need a reason why.” The creature scoffed again, which was getting pretty annoying. “don’t you understand? I am a part of you you can never get rid of. The hatred to others will always reside in-“Before it finished, suddenly its mouth was sealed with a brightly bound seal. As It struggled to free its mouth, chains bouned its arms and legs. The creature began to stumble backwards, until it fell on its back. I helped Tobi up, and he walked to the beast. He raised his arm and finished the beast off. As he walked away the remains of its body quickly decomposed into the earth.
As I walked with tobi back home I felt a new Humbleness. We didn’t speak until I finaly got to my room. Tobi sat in a chair and spoke “Your father didn’t have the courage to stand agensed his weakness.” he takes a half look at me “God dosent just throw angels out to die, He is a god of life, not death” I took my time to reply“so that means you wont die because god says im courageous?” I replied. Then tobi said “No. I still can, God just trusts you with me.” then he paused “Thanks” he said quietly. I sat quietly pondering what I had learned today. It wasn’t that People aren’t all Christians. Or to fight a demon you must reverse its curse. What I learned more then weapons of warfare. And as much as I hate to even imagin the fact of this happening. I had to put my full trust in god. For my help came from the lord today. It wasn’t helping me. My help towards others comes from the Lord. And in that one moment, watching tobi. I felt Like we were unstoppable.

Your comment was posted, but it wasn’t long enough to count as a review. Reviews need about four complete sentences (at least 250 characters). Try writing another review that explains your thoughts in more detail — the author will appreciate it, and you’ll earn points for it.
I would suggest experimenting with other sentence forms, as the repetition of simple sentence after simple sentence is a stumbling block when trying to read this.
