Death Won't Set You Free

“Death will set me free.”

No.

“It’ll ease the aching pain that I experience in this life.”

No.

“Nobody will care.”

No.

Stop. None of this is true. It may seem like it is right now, to you, but the sad thing about humanity is that we only show up when the damage is really done. This applies to everything in life. Including you thinking of death.

It may seem like nobody notices or cares about you now, but people do. I care about you. You may be thinking something like: “You don’t know me. You don’t know my pain.”

I don’t. I really don’t. And I'll admit that, rather than lie about it. But I want you to know that somebody here loves you and cares about you, and doesn't want you to go. Every time I see something like suicide or murder on the news, I feel bad. I feel bad that I couldn't do anything. But maybe this will stop you from killing or hurting yourself.

Listen to music, watch a marathon of your favorite show, something.

Just please, don’t kill yourself.

For me. For everyone.

For you.

And I'll be requesting you to let me put this in my blog too. :3

Anyways, you're amazing, your writing is amazing and the topic you wrote about is quite serious. Excellent job. :)

This is such a thoughtful piece of writing. Your work is amazing and full of honesty; although we don't know what people are going through we want the best for them. My best friend has told me she has depression and that she has tried to commit suicide before.

It struck me because she is such an upbeat person who always has a smile on her face, it was the last thing that I was expecting to come out of her mouth. It really upset me to know that I might not have her one day.

So basically all I want to say is . . . thank you for writing this, it is beautiful and my heart throbbed while reading it.

Thanks! I try to be as honest as possible in my works, especially in the encouraging ones. To me, there's no point to encouraging someone if you simply lie about knowing how they feel. So you have to be as honest as possible to really touch their heart.

Herro c:

First off all, I'd like to say this: I like you. Let's be best friends ^-^..forever, jk. You're only eleven, I started writing when I was eleven so I'm technically in love with you. Not legitley because I'm currently crushing on this seventh grader...wink wink...haha. I also love your icon because:

a) OMFG IT MEANS U LIEK DANGAN RONPA TOO?!!!?!!!?!!! PLEASE SAY YOU DOOOO
b) It's Chihiro in a Santa hat. he never wears fricking hats c:

Okay, enough of me fangirling over ur stuff :p.

Your writing has shown me so much beauty and originality in just 2 minutes. Now, I've read plenty of essays/articles about people with siblings or friends who have committed suicide, and talk about how wrong it was. But your piece has really touched me.

When I was about nine, and my sister was 14, she suddenly went into depression. No one knew why, but she just went into it. She wouldn't eat, she wouldn't come out of bed. She ended up getting anorexia, which is a disease that makes you super, super thin. Your bones show through your skin and it's pretty bad for your body.

Anyway, my sister got anorexia, but she finally got out of depression. We didn't think much of her anorexia, now that she was out of depression, though. My parents sent my sister back to school where a lot of her friends turned on her. She just came home one day and ignored the rest of us. She went up to room. It was only until later that night when I found out my big sister had tried to commit suicide.

Listen, I was only nine at the time, so I didn't exactly understand. My brother explained it all to me.

Your writing piece brought tears to my eyes. It reminded me off that event with my sister. I just have to say this: God bless you. You deserve a happy life. I hope you grow old with the person of your dreams.

Continue to write like this, please, it's amazing. You're an amazing person.

-Huez

YES I LOVE DANGANRONPA.
And Chihiro is an amazing character. whydidhedieQQ

Thank you for your review :D, but I'm so sorry about your sister. I have another encouragement draft for anorexia, but I don't have enough points to upload it yet. I hope I can get a lot of points in on Review Day, so I can.
Thanks, and I hope you and your family is better now :)

May I be part of this Dangan Ronpa fangirl circle as well?
(Did you guys see sdr2 yet?)

Hello!
This was an interesting piece to read. I'd have to agree with the idea that people who believe that death with set them free won't actually be free and will actually just be making themselves worse. Their friends will be trapped, and friends are usually parts if what make us people.

I like the tone of it. I like how you seem to be addressing all the people out there that have considered suicide. However, a technical nitpick I have about this piece is that it flow of it felt choppy to me. But I understand this because it sounds like you wrote this straight from your heart. Not always do our deepest thoughts come out fluidly and I can assure that I have firsthand experience with that. :) So I guess my nitpick is invalid here.

Overall, what you have here is great and very thoughtful. Congratulations on making it to the spotlight, I hope to see more of your writing in the future!

:D thank you!

Are you really eleven? My god, reading this created an image in my mind of someone five years older. You have a very sensitive and mature style for your age; I doubt I could have written anything so well-crafted when I was that young.

This is a very subtly-handled piece. You have a very light touch with words, and I love the way you fragmented it ('I don't. I really don't.') to make it personal and give real tone to it, and also adored the way the opening featured such forceful, monosyllabic repetition - no, no, no. The ending was very effective too - the way you brought all of the subjects together and ended on the most important one. People shouldn't kill themselves because I care. People shouldn't kill themselves because everyone cares. But, above all, people shouldn't kill themselves because they should care. They should want to live for themselves, because they have so much to offer, not just because others couldn't bare to have them leave.

Excellent. I've no criticism. Any alteration would just rob this piece of its raw, personal outline, and to do that would be sinful. Good job, cupcakenx. Good job. ;)

I'll be keeping an eye on your works (no pressure though, and I mean that completely honestly).

Keep writing!
~Pan :D

I love this so much. Words can't even describe how beautiful and touching this is. I really love your writing and choice of words, and I'm sure you helped a lot of people by writing this. I have never given thought to suicide, but if I ever did, I would come here to read this before anything. Your words were true and thoughtful, and I wish everyone can understand them the way I do. You'll save lives with this one. Great job, and keep it up. But most of all, thank you.

Hello, cupcakenx.

Your writing is really good. I am very moved by this essay. Honestly, I used to be suicidal at one point in time... but now I changed my ways on that.

Many people will read this, changing their lives for the better because of how persuasive this essay is.

I am glad that you feel this way about death, or at least suicidal death.

Keep up the good work! Keep those persuasive juices flowing through your mind ~ <3

This is a great piece! I agree wholeheartedly with it!

Anyway, No spelling, or grammatical errors.

I like how in the beginning you put it like you were conversing with someone on this topic.

Keep writing! This piece totally deserved Literary Spotlight!

That was beautiful... Can I just second all that you said, in case someone's not convinced? I feel the same way... Once I got really attached to a girl who'd been murdered, even though I never met her. Death is a terrible thing. Your Essay was very heart-warming, so thank you.

Wow, this is a really amazing piece of work!
I love it, it's really uplifting and good to read.
You've made it easy to read, and yet it makes the reader think A LOT. Great work here, there are no punctuation or grammatical errors which is good, I find it so easy to make a mistake but you've done great.
I bet you've helped a lot of people here and made them feel better about themselves! Great work, a follow, like, review and gift from me! :D

This is an oddly timed piece to read for me.
I promise you I won't kill myself. ;)

The whole piece can be encapsulated into this single line:
'But I want you to know that somebody here loves you and cares about you, and doesn't want you to go.'

It could save people.
Sometimes, we need to hear words coming from a complete stranger.
Thank you.
Great writing, on merit of thought, content. All = beautiful. :)

Timmyjake here to give you a review!

This is very touching, almost poetic really. Its beautiful! It will help everyone who is depressed!

My only nitpick is the beginning, which isn't a good opener in my opinion. "Death will see me free" might be, but the three afterwards I don't think open it very well.
And then, at your end, I think it would look better as, "But most especially for you."

Those are my only nitpicks I have to give you! This should go up to top literary works I think! Keep writing! This is something awesome to start your journey here with!
~Timmyjake

thank you! :D

Don't sit down and write because you're a writer; sit down and write because you have something to say. And if the sea of ideas isn't flowing, well, just tell me about your day.
