Does anyone
Care?
Is anyone
There?
I can’t tell anymore,
Though I suspect a ‘No.’
Would anything change
If I rearranged
My life?
Or is this circle inescapable?
This torturous circle I live,
My circle of no one,
Anyone
Someone
Please.
I have been here for too long,
Trying to get out,
Trying to get free.
There is no easy way out,
The route is long and hard.
The first step is the hardest
So I’ve never tried.
And if I were to open my mind
Past the past hurt and sorrow,
Past the tears
Past the words...
Oh, the words.
They spoke ‘round my head
And would not say
If they were mine or another’s,
Only they plagued
Me forever so long.
They were mean and hard,
And never joked.
They all were so true I believed them,
And still I do.
But they lied.
Those voices they lied to me.
They spoke with hate
And disgust.
But all the words were lying,
Yet they still follow me,
For I still believe them.
Now some words are mine,
And some words are other's,
And some words discarded flee me.
Some words I’ve banished,
But still many more
Fly ‘round my head all the more.
I cannot escape them.
I cannot flee.
They must
Get away from me.
They must never come back,
And never send friends.
But I cannot escape those words.
For these words are my own,
I’m the one that said them.
And now that I have
I utterly despise them.
Still I believe them,
Though I know they’re not true.
I cannot escape them.
I need to get out,
I must get away,
But I cannot.
Not alone.
Please help me,
Won’t you?
Is this a good title? Can anyone think of a better one? Titles are not something I'm usually good at, and for some reason the description didn't show up.
I think they go very well with the voice of the poem: someone hurt trying to get the world to notice. Scared, isolated, alone but with something to say. Will someone listen..to these words of mine? I think it goes well with the poem. I think you could put it into stanzas to make it more encouraging to read- it is quite long. Also since you have short lines, it would also look better- it is already good
Keep writing!
Stanzas are a good idea. Thank you.
