Only a Picture Reminds

E - Everyone

In Poetry

You became a part of my life

That only a picture reminds.

Beside me, there you stand

But more than that,

Nothing seems to make sense,

Nothing seems to ring a bell.

I don't know why,

I don't know why,

No other memories of you

Come into mind.

No hints, no clues.

But only a picture

And nothing more.

This was an awesome thing to write about! It makes me think of some people I have pictures of, but don't fully know who they are. I entirely get what you mean.

I love the repetition of the line 'I don't know why' as Em101cats has kindly pointed out. It really does show the importance of it and tells the reader how utterly confused and lost you really are.

Kudos to you, my friend. You have earned my stamp of approval and awesomeness. *stamps face, hands, and feet*

FANTABULOUS JOB! Keep up the good work!!

Hi, Em101cats has arrived to review!

How I just love this poem! Man do I love poems like this. Great work at getting me interested with your intriguing title. Wow!

I don't know why

I love how you repeat this line twice. It really yells out the importance of this line. Great work!

I saw no spelling or grammar errors. In fact, I didn't see any errors! Great job with this, and keep up the good writing!

WOW.
I must say that this poem truly hit me right in the feels. As someone with dementia running in my family this made me sort of understand how it might feel to have dementia.

"That only a picture reminds." sounds a bit odd in this context. I think using the verb 'remains' would be more appropriate, since the poem tells that the person does NOT remember the person in the picture.

Otherwise very pretty and sad. I liked it. :)

I'm happy you liked it :) ..

Hello, Kanome here with a review for you.

HONESTLY, I love the flow of words in this poem. It makes it clear to your readers, and to me (due to my suckiness of reading comprehension bwaaaahahaha)....
ANYWHO!

I think "Come into mind", instead of "into", just put "to". I don't know why, but it just makes more sense to me, in my opinion.

Also, at the end, I could add something like "That reminds me of you." That way, you could finish it off with the final blow! xD

All in all, this is a good poem and one that interests me at that. Keep up the good work. I can't wait to read more. <3

Kanome out!

Thanks for the review and suggestions :) ..
