character creation 1

PreviousNext

New series I'm starting where I construct a character that I will probably use in a later story and hopefully get comments on whether the characters good or not and how I could improve the character

All Characters in this series are my own creations and are nearly always still only a draft form of information on them

Alex Silvers: Known as the silver tongue snatcher

Runaway

Multiple identities

Changes hair colour weekly

Thief

Lives in old abandon houses

Wanted in numerous states and numerous countries

Never in one spot for more than a month

Believed to be The perfect candidate to be a double agent and infiltrate gangs That’s if we can catch him first though

He’s been on the run for the last 6 years and is believed to be responsible for numerous robberies carjacking and public damage arson and the death of one police officer.

This imposes if he is caught a minimum 25 year jail term however we are already planning a plea bargain that will let him roam free under supervision of a supervisor if he works for us.

Hey there! Your character sounds well-established, actually. He sounds like a sufficiently interesting character to travel with in a story-- but your draft of his study is pretty straight-forward. I still remember that was a thread somewhere on this site that helped with studying and unlocking your characters.

I'd love to help you explore Alex's character more so that your future stories or novel will have a believable and admired character. Since this document was pretty general, here are some question that will help you unlock Alex's character.

Bear in mind I got these questions from a thread somewhere on this site! The questions aren't mine xD I use them myself when I'm studying one of my characters.

Name
Name significance if applicable
Age range
Appearance
Significant physical markings/oddities
Tell me about their family and the relationship they have with them
If I were to ask the character about his/her family, how would he/ she respond?
Does anyone else know about these family members and relationships? Why?
List the major influence in their childhood, how they were influence, and what character traits may be attributed to such influence
Strengths from my POV?
From character’s POV?
From surrounding characters’ POV?
Weakness from my POV?
From character’s POV?
From surrounding characters’ POV?
What do they fear?
How do they react to fear? Why?
What quirks and mannerisms do they have?
Any significant heritage?
Tell me about the nature and state of their relationships with other specific characters
Rant about personality. Now. As long as you want to.
What misconceptions do other characters form about them?
What judgments does your character tend to pass too quickly?
How do people see your character upon first meeting, generally?
What possible personality changes may occur in the story? Why?
Rant about their past. Write me a life and times summary.

These are sure to be more than helpful to you! Hope I've helped, and I don't take credit for the questions, again xD

As a concept, your character is well-fleshed. I may be alone on this, but I'd like to know trivia about him. Hair color and his sort-of "class" assignment as Thief are decent inside details, but they're covered in the paragraphs of information you've given us in the end. As individual character templates, I'd like to know what "organization" wants to recruit him; i.e. if you could give information about the folks who want him in the author's notes, it'd help get a grasp on his character context by a ton.

You've set it up to be a traveling narrative, so I'm interested in reading the full project. Keep me posted as you write the novel proper.

Finally, the surname is awful. You'll probably go through a dozen or more renames as the character builds up. Hope this helps,

Lumi

thanks Lumi I can answer a few of your questions, one the organisation that wants to recruit him at the moment im not positive what I want to do with this character part of me wants to give him his own story and have the organisation as something of a fbi secret intelligence organisation but another part of me thinks he maybe held right off and be added maybe a lot later down the track in a possible sequel to KAC would love to hear your thoughts on what I should do
Also thanks I wasn't to keen on characters name myself but couldn't place a better name at the time

"Storybooks and roleplays are just for fun!" To which I say: of course! But why only "just"? Sometimes fun is found in the full-send. Sometimes fun is found in taking it seriously, and aiming to do it with excellence!
