I suppose that I could say that this is the most inspirational thing I ever read, but then that would be stretching the truth a little. You have a wonderful topic here. Jesus... wow. Yeah. That's full of rich imagery right there. All you have to do is pick up a bible to be confronted by the imagery of Jesus and all his glory. It's just awesome like that.
The problem is, this poem doesn't really add anything to it. Yeah, you say that he is your strength and shoulder to lean on, but everybody can say that. In fact, that's almost become clichéd, sad to say. Oh yeah... it might be true, but you need to present it in a different way which makes it unique. You have to add on to those thoughts that you laid above by providing us rich sensory clues that allow us to see, hear, taste, smell, and touch the power of Jesus, in some form or another.
Is this hard? YES. But if you can pull this off, you can come up with a truly inspirational poem that can stand up to the test of time.
With that said, I want to share a Jesus poem that I have always loved. It's called "Footprints in the Sand." You've probably heard of it before, but if you haven't, then I'm sure you can enjoy it. ^_^
So remember: don't just tell us about why Jesus is so great. Show us. Sell your poem to us and we shall be inspired.
Tweak it up a little bit and let us see the final version, 'kay? I always liked inspirational poems better than suicide ones. ^_^
