I sat down on the couch in the living room trying to ignore the loud, screaming children that are running around like crazy animals. I really wish that I could just get adopted to leave this hell hole of a place. Sure there are many things to do, but it's no fun when the boys hog the T.V to play videos games or watching football and all the other sports and the girls just destroying the computer going on Facebook and Twitter and all the other stuff. I'm at least lucky that I still have my Ipod with me to watch Silent Hill, Resident Evil, Sleeping dogs and all the other videos games I like. The smell of bacon and eggs wafted through the air as I continued to read Maximum Ride Book 2.
"I'm surprised that you’re not on the computer," Jessica said.
"Wait, it's free?!" I practically jump out of my spot on the couch and getting ready to make a dash upstairs.
"Never said that dork," She said while spreading herself across the couch and flipping open her phone. This is the reason why I hate being near this person. She always just has to take up my personal space. I stand there for moment, waiting for her to just look at my disapproved face.
"Oh, you’re still here? I thought you would have left by now... Actually I need to talk to you in private," she said while grabbing my hand when I was about to make a run for it. She dragged me to the bathroom while dodging little six and seven year olds running around playing with airplanes.
"I heard Ms. Adams talking about adopting one of us, “She said.
I just stared at her for a moment
waiting for her to say something else.
"What's with the blank expression? Are you going to miss me?" She said.
"Hell no! And I'm not so excited about that because I've been trained not to believe any word that comes out of your mouth."
"Why?"
"Did you not just see the... Let's say, the activity that was going on out on the living room couch?"
"You know, that sounds really dirty. You have a dirty mind...." She said while squinting.
"You're so messed up! I will not think about such things! Anyways I won't miss you because you've been a big, fat meany to me. Your always tricking me into doing something and you always call me a dork." For as long as I've been here Jessica has always been calling me a dork. Well probably not the whole time. For maybe two weeks since I got into the orphanage, and I accidentally spilled some chocolate milk on her favorite shirt that's when she started calling me a dork.
"I'll have you know that the only reason I did that was because I didn't really know how to make friends. And it was fun seeing you pout like a little kid," Jessica said.
"That doesn't change how much I hate you, you know. And I find that as a lame excuse for bulling me."
"Yeah, yeah anyways I'm going to see if breakfast is ready and then I'll ask Ms. Adams if there's anyone coming soon."
"Right..."
I really wanted to get out of that cramped bathroom, but I waited until Jessica got out of the bathroom. I stared at her until she started squirming and excused herself out of the bathroom. I had to be careful getting out because crazy kids like to run right in front of the door that you're opening. Which equals to tons of crying and you getting in trouble. I head up stairs to go find one of my notebooks that have sheet music in it. When I was younger I loved to play the piano. I was so into music that I printed random music sheets and learned to play them myself. But just thinking about how I couldn't play any of these songs for my family, much less sing for them, made me want to just burst out into tears and cry like a little baby.
I literally felt my throat started hurting and the tears bottling up in my eyes. Most people would get over a something like this, but I'm being haunted by this death (or deaths I should say). Sometimes I just wonder if Mr. Shadow is a real thing or am I just making my mind dream about those memories and create him. But if Mr. Shadow is a real thing then how is he in my head? I have really weird questions in The breakfast bell echoed through the house and you could hear the herd of elephants running down the stairs. By the time I get down to the table almost all the chairs are filled and it seems like I'm like the only one still standing.
"Took you long enough," Jessica said, "Come, sit next to me."
She's acting weird. She never tells me to sit next to her.
"What do you want from me? I know you’re going to steal something off my plate,"
"Mrs. Adams said that there is someone coming and it's tomorrow!" She squealed like a little girl. I mean I would do the same if i was like her but I'm not. I'm not saying that I don't want to leave this place, I really do but the chances of me getting adopted are like one in a million. Nobody wants a black girl who has a ton of dark spots on her face from picking a bumps on her face because of acne, a girl who has a strange rash marks on her chest that she apparently had when she four or five and especially a girl who has a taste in videos games and watch scary game walkthroughs on Youtube. Jessica jabbed her fork into my pancake while I was daydreaming.
"Hey! Give it back," I screamed. I just knew it.
I went thrashing everywhere in the dining room table just to get my pancake back. I just gave up after she started licking it. Mental note to self: never have food around Jessica. She's a fatty (Because she ate my food plus her own). I put my plate in the sink and tried to wander off before something else happened. "Chantal? Can you please come over here for a second?"
"Coming," I said. Mrs. Adams is a big woman. Not fat but she fine the way she looks. She has long light brown hair with blue eyes.
"You woke up early again." It wasn't a question. “Have you been having nightmares again?"
What other forms of dreams do I ever have? Lollipop ones?
"I'm always having nightmares. And I know it's not form watching Silent hill or Resident Evil because the nightmare has nothing to do with it."
"Well for just in case I don't want you on the computer for the whole week and that also includes the iPod. Turn off the Internet on it," She said in a commanding voice. I'm going to be bored for a whole week
"Okay," I said as I was walking away. Sometimes I just want to get out of this place. I started to feel very depressed thinking how long I've been here. For four years I've been here and tons of people come around to adopt kids, but I don't even think they look at me before they choose a kid. I already know that I'll never be able to be chosen.
As I walked upstairs I greeted Matt. He was two years older than me and very nice and helpful to pretty much everyone in the orphanage. I’m positive that whoever comes tomorrow will possible adopt him. I know that almost every parent wants a child like that. I hung my head once I got to the top of the stairs, unsure of what I'm depressed about know.
"Owww..." I tripped on some little toys that were left on the floor. I can't believe that I didn't see them. The pain on my head was like I was hit with a hammer. I guess thinking too much about adoption can give anyone a large headache. Or I just hit my head on a toy car. As I was getting up my heart stopped. I saw something that I knew that was completely fake. It just had to be an illusion.I sprinted back to my, accidentally bumping into Alexandra. I slowly opened the door to the girl's room( where I sleep) and making sure that nobody is in front of it. Sometimes the younger kids play games in front of the door and when you open it,Bam! You completely hit the poor girl. Or boy since sometimes they come in here
The coast was clear so swung the door open, jumped up to the top of my bunk bed where I sleep and curl up into a little ball. He can't be real! That same face keeps playing through my mind. Those white eyes and perfectly shaped smile. Its like it's a normal smiley face that you would see on the internet, but just surrounded by the color black and the eyes and mouth are white. So many questions are floating through my mind. If he's real then does that mean he can kill me in real life?
All I want is for someone to just save me from this nightmare.

I like this piece as it is really descriptive. The first paragraph built up such a picture of the care home, I almost imagined being there. The first person voice works really well, with the thoughts easy to understand and emphasize with. I particularly like the relationship between Jessica and Chantal. It seems so REAL!!! The characters in your story are almost like people, not fake. This, to me, is very important in a story. The use of brackets was quite good, but it seemed a little random. I suggest adding some others so it isn't all on its lonesome. One little issue is your commas. I suggest putting a space after them because the sentences seem cramped. Apart from that, a really good piece.

Thanks for helping me out! I really didn't notice the problem with the commas until after I looked at it. Word kept telling me that something was wrong but I didn't really see anything but now i know! So thank you again!
