I fear everyone I like, likes someone more than they do me

Not out of hate, but an inability to relate

They try to comfort me, say my fears are irrational

And yet they are so very probable

Humans, addicted to social interaction

They take a quick hit of me

Then move on to the main attraction

I’m just not enough I guess

I don’t give them what they need

Maybe they’re too used to the dopamine

From their Tik Tok feed

Wait, what’s that? Someone invited me!

Quickly, I find something to wear

Excited to be proven wrong in my despair

The people say hello, only half heartedly

That’s the moment I realize

Everywhere I go, situation regardless

An empty room, full of people

If it's any consolation, most people are shallow anyways.

Heyyy ✌️
I see that you're new to the website, and so am I.
Leaving that behind I will be reviewing this gorgeous poem today

Starting on strong with a good first stanza, the poet describes and captures that feeling where you try to socialize as much as you can, but it doesn't work out. People just don't you find you interesting enough, even though you try your best, Your first line itself captures that feeling of not being valued enough and never being the first choice. So your first stanza does wonders to elicit some feelings!!!

Ok the second stanza follows the same feeling but this time you're doubting yourself. As straightforward as those lines are, they relate to those raw thoughts in our mind.

However the last stanza in my opinion is the best. It proves that no matter how hard we try, we end up in this endless loop of misery, more misery, hope and then misery again.
The poet tried believing that their situation this 'feeling' wasn't so bad, but they slowly realize they're just as alone as they began.

Great piece overall!!!

This poem felt really relatable. I imagine like a lot of other writers here might feel the same, since writers tend to be introspective.
From my reading, it feels like the narrator is struggling to connect with people, but not simply because of shyness or lack of charisma. It seems to me they want to connect on a deeper and meaningful level, but they are anxious about their image, or whether or not they are good or interesting enough.
I liked the imagery of this part:

Humans, addicted to social interaction

They take a quick hit of me

Then move on to the main attraction

I’m just not enough I guess

I don’t give them what they need

Maybe they’re too used to the dopamine

From their Tik Tok feed

Everyone around them seems to hop from one social interaction to another, so the narrator is left feeling unwanted.
But one part that hit home was the ending:

Wait, what’s that? Someone invited me!

Quickly, I find something to wear

Excited to be proven wrong in my despair

The people say hello, only half heartedly

That’s the moment I realize

Everywhere I go, situation regardless

An empty room, full of people

It pivots shortly, and there seems to be some hope. But then poem ends with the narrator feeling more lonely than before. This poem felt very true to that kind of experience.
I had some trouble figuring out where each stanza ended and where one began, using <br> after each line helps. I don’t really have any other suggestions for the rest of the poem. I look forward to seeing what else you write!
