Limericks

There was a cow who roamed the plains
Who saw many people driving trains
One day she wanted to try it
And didn’t like it on bit
The crazy cow roaming the plains

Example:

There was an old man from cheadle,
Who slid through the eye of a needle,
They thought he was cute,
When he tooted his flute,
But many thought it quite feeble.

^ I think that is how a limerick should flow.

I thought it was pretty cute! However there are a few too many syllables in the first part. For instance, generally lymericks have the beat:
la la-la la la-la la la-la. You can't quite make yours flow to that.
Also the middle bits a bit off. But its a good idea!!

Yes it seemed a little unflowing for a limerick. A limerick should flow perfectly and add to the humour.

I didn't like the concept of it at all because it was too far fetched even for a limerick.

Hehehe, limericks aren't really supposed to mean anything, but they're sure fun to say! :D

I think the poem has one or two more syllables than it should per line. Better check Cassandra's link and see if you can't clean it up that way. ^_^;;

As hunterzero pointed out, your meter is off, which is one of the most important things in limericks, if not the most important.

Read, absorb, have fun:

Let me know if you have any questions. :D

EDIT: the link isn't working. Paste the link I gave you above into your address bar on your browser and the page I was trying to lead you to should show up. =)

It's funny. I like it...
However, the meter in your poem is slightly unbalanced, so try working on that.
