If I truly knew there was a god and that he was merciful and loved me then I would KILL MYSELF.

My E-bike and PC go to Gabby wherever she is. Four hundred dollars, all the money I have left, goes to my sister Grey. My electric scooter goes to Corbyn.

“I don’t think there is anything else I need to tell them.”

I walked into the kitchen and picked up the knife. This felt right. This was the right decision. I’m really doing this.

Everyone tells you how could you forget that your future is bright? The possibility of a happy future is gone. You’re just being weak, you really are just a child. I just can’t make it through today. You're just doing this for attention. I just want to stop hurting every day. Weak.

I walked through my doorway and laid down all I really needed to do now was gain the strength to take action…

One

Last

Time

I wanted to. But I couldn’t.

My heartbeat had been racing since yesterday, pounding like it might burst out of my chest. My breath had fallen short years ago leaving me without the ability of a satisfying sigh. Everything hurt. I wanted it to end.

Batman, my cat, had curled up beside me. She was only ours because I brought her home. She didn’t know what I was planning. She just loved me.

I didn’t want her here. I was already going to destroy so many people’s lives. I didn’t need the reminder that I was about to hurt those I love.

Maybe music might help. I reached for my headphones and phone on the nightstand. As I unlocked the screen, I thought of Corbyn. He’d find out eventually. He’d live in a world of worry for longer than necessary. We had promised each other if the day ever came, we’d tell each other and wouldn’t try to stop each other.

Before going to youtube music I sent him the message “I’m ending it.”

I played the song rises the moon by Liana Flores. For a moment, it all felt soft. Gentle. Like this wasn’t a tragedy but an escape.

I gripped the knife tighter and brought it to my chest.

I can do this.

I deserve this.

I felt a strange calm wash over me; I had nearly forgotten how it felt.

In that moment, I didn’t want to take action. I didn’t want to face the world either. Maybe I could just live in this for a moment longer-BZZT BZZT BZZT

BZZT BZZT BZZT

Corbyn had read my message faster than I expected.

“Don’t do this.”

“This won’t solve anything.”

Another buzz. Another Text.

“Please, Just talk to me.”

I felt betrayed. Was it so bad to want some solace?

BZZZZZT BZZZZZT BZZZZZT

He kept calling me.

BZZZZZT BZZZZZT BZZZZZT

My phone lit up again.

Corbyn is Calling.

I swiped it away.

BZZZZZT BZZZZZT BZZZZZT

Dad is calling.

How did he know?

Did he know?

“If you don’t respond I'm calling the police.”

BZZZZZT BZZZZZT BZZZZZT

Another buzz.

Another call.

Another text.

Everything was vibrating. Flashing. Screaming.

I couldn’t breathe.

I couldn’t think.

I froze.

Then I heard it.

My sister’s phone was ringing from her room.

Her phone stopped.

“Yeah, I’ll check on him,” she said.

Footsteps.

Fast.

My door swung open.

I panicked, tried to hide the knife under my pillow, but it was too late.

She saw it.

“He’s alive!” She shouted into her phone

Then she turned to me.

Stepped closer.

“Give me the knife!”

I didn’t fight

She took it from my hands.

I didn’t feel relieved. I didn’t feel saved. I just felt bad.

I recognized this feeling.

Fifth grade. I ran away. I gave up halfway through the night. I came home. felt this same weight in my chest.

Would I regret the outcome of today for years to come as well?

Before I get started on this review, let me give you some love hun:

You are loved and cherished. I don't know why you would want to kill yourself, but just know, I'm praying for you. I'm praying that you understand that people do care for you. Your friends and family care. And me, probably just a complete stranger care for you. Never feel that you are less than what you are.

''Batman, my cat, had curled up beside me. She was only ours because I brought her home. She didn’t know what I was planning. She just loved me.''

My mom would always say when I used to go and try to talk to stray cats, she would say, ''Leave them cats alone, they don't understand you.''

However, I firmly believe that animals are a pathway to emotional connection. THATS why I'm begging my mother for a pet ferret.

Let be honest, I didn't enjoy this story. Now before you get mad at me, I did like the writing style of it, it's just I didn't like the topic of you trying to kill yourself. You're better than that. You're trying, and people see your effort.

Overall, take care of yourself pal/gal. And have a nice day/night.

Before I write anything else: are you okay? Please take care of yourself!

Oh I really like that the cat is part of the reason why the narrator is reconsidering. I just really like cats.
I also really like the formatting here:

One
Last
Time

I also like how the story highlights all the different things that the narrator still has in their lives, all the reasons to keep alive.
Oh and how this shows just how in deep the narrator is ☹ “I felt betrayed. Was it so bad to want some solace?”

Oh and I really like how quickly everything escalates, how everyone they know try to reach out so desperately and how things seemed to be in balance for quite some time and that they feel so calm when they made the decisions. I have so many feelings!

But I’m still there enough to do DIALOGUE FORMATTING!
Here
“He’s alive!” she shouted

She shouted. That’s not a sentence that can stand on its own. So its secretly a part of the speech! And therefore you don’t capitalize “she”.

I like how insecure the last line of the work is because it really shows that the narrator is still alive and living means that you just don’t know what happens next.

I really hope you’re okay out there.

Hello and welcome to YWS! :D

Oof, I have to say I am glad whenever any attempted suicide goes awry. Life gets better... trust me!

Okay, so things I liked...

1) Batman detail. Batman is awesome. Cats are awesome. A cat named Batman is even better.

2) Corbyn!!! He's a real one, he is. He just totally saved his best friend's life! Like, I know his best friend feels lost about this at the moment, but duuuuuude. I read somewhere from accounts from survivors of suicide that later said that the instant after they committed (jumped, took the pills, etc) they realized that their problems were usually smaller than they were so they tried to undo it.

3) The family for springing into action!

What can I say? I like a story in which someone's life is saved... ;)

Okay, some things you can improve on?

This is a short story so obviously you can't go in depth on it. However... it doesn't feel so resolved? The moment in which he hands his sister back the knife is a turning point for everything. I kind of wish you deepened that moment more and described it fully -- both from his interior viewpoint and from what she does... how her voice snaps as she commands him. How she knows that he won't resist and thus steps forward to take the knife. Those sorts of details!

It also doesn't really feel like the end? Like, his sister just saved him. But, he still feels horrible and that was a temporary solution, at best. So what now?

Anyway, I hope that helps! :D If any part of this review confuses you, let me know... I haven't had coffee today so it's possible this review might be incoherent, lol.

broo, just don't take any step like that, you should remove the emails and all from here, not a right decision, you'll get better

Besides, if you want perfection, write a haiku. Anything longer is bound to have some passages that don't work as well as they might.
