In the quiet of moon-kissed nights,
Where stars weave secrets in their light,
I find you, my love, a celestial grace,
A melody that time cannot erase.
Your eyes, twin galaxies of wonder,
Hold constellations I long to wander.
In their depths, I glimpse eternity,
A universe where our souls dance free.
Your laughter, a sunburst in my chest,
Igniting embers, refusing to rest.
It paints rainbows across stormy skies,
A promise whispered in every sunrise.
Your touch—a sonnet etched in skin,
A language known only to hearts within.
Fingers trace verses along my spine,
And I become poetry, wholly thine.
We are stardust, entangled and true,
Two cosmic souls, forever anew.
So let our love be an infinite rhyme,
Written across the fabric of time.
In this cosmic dance, hand in hand,
We'll waltz through galaxies, unplanned.
For love, my dear, is the grandest art,
A masterpiece painted on the canvas of the heart.

Hello, I will start by saying this is a great poem it uses a lot of metaphors something I am a sucker for in poetry. The imagery is thick and lush which helps bring home the feelings as well as the themes. A sonnet etched-in skin is a line that sticks out to me personally. However, keep in mind this is my opinion and I don't know what you trying to do but I wish the first line came back in the end.
I feel it would make the whole thing come full circle while also showing how much this matters to the person. As if those nights will be eternally remembered. Regardless I love the flow and the deep prose that gets a lot across in an almost Shakespearean way.
Keep it up your doing great.
This was beautifully written. The astronomical references give the reader this feeling of awe. But I noticed the one mention of music.
"A melody that time cannot erase."
You also mentioned things related to paintings and "masterpiece." What I think is that the "protagonist" is comparing their love to art. Not just one kind of art, but many. Here's the thing about art. It can be chaotically beautiful. That's how love is too. It's not something easily predictable and it may not stay forever. But for the brief time you have it, it can be the most beautiful thing you've ever witnessed.
Side-note. I do love what you started out with..
"In the quiet of moon-kissed nights."
Because that is a very calm setting, and yet you end with this...
"A masterpiece painted on the canvas of the heart."
Which is a whole different setting. This makes the reader imagine that the "protagonist" is somewhere really quiet in reality. While in their mind all they can think about is this love of theirs.
Anyway.. I really enjoyed this! You are a wonderful writer.
I LOVE it! It is soooo romantic and it has a lot of depth!
hey there, just dropping by for a quick review.
i loved reading your poem. I loved the theme you kept throughout the poem of cosmic metaphors. Like what Snoink said in their review though, it was a change of pace for each stanza to be using these cosmic metaphors and then having a stanza that doesn't have the same theme as the rest.
That being said, I do think that the fourth stanza is my favorite: "Your touch-- a sonnet etched in skin, // a language known only to hearts within. // Fingers trace verses along my spine, // And I become poetry, wholly thine." I think that you could keep this in if you switched around the order of the stanzas. I think if you were to move this stanza to the end of the poem, it would be a nice conclusion to the poem that is all cosmic-themed because the reference to poetry in that stanza could be a reference to this entire poem that you wrote.
But overall, this was a really well-written poem. I see that you're new to the site, so welcome!
Awwww, I like all the astronomical references! You start with the moon and then go off to the stars and sun and galaxies... it's quite cosmic in scope, and I love how you deftly weave these metaphors throughout the poem.
If I were to improve it... I would probably narrow the focus of your poem. You try to tie the cosmic with the artistic and... I am not sure it really fits. Your cosmic images are far more powerful than your artistic ones.
Like... this line which is more of a cosmic metaphor:
Is more powerful than this artistic metaphor:
So in a way it seems a bit off-balance because your artistic metaphors are usually lackluster compared to the cosmic ones, which makes your ending a little flat...
It's a combination of both metaphors, but your most powerful metaphor is in the beginning whereas the less powerful metaphor (which is borderline cliche) is saved for the end. So it seems a little off balance.
But still, I did like the poem a lot! The language was powerful, the rhymes were clever and refreshing, and I loved how you seemed to dance across the universe with your poem.
Helloooo stranger! Would you mind if I asked you how you get quotes like that? Thank you!
Absolutely beautiful, I love the continued reference to space and time. Makes it truly feel like a "love is timeless and infinite" kind of thing. You ought to be proud of this one! Simply enchanting.
I especially love the end line there, ties it all together. Just the complete adoration. Really encapsulates that "newly in love" feeling.
Wowwwww that’s deep, awesome!
