Waiting

In Publishing Center

People are waiting patiently for their dear ones on the weathered floor near rusting tracks.
A faithful hound waiting at his master’s grave, for the glowing, glorious days to return.
A heron waiting at promising creeks, perhaps the nest gets a dinner soon.
A cat waiting in the shadows, ready to unleash its instincts and take a soul.

The dying candle is waiting, giving all it has to serve.
The ancient clock is waiting, watching everyone come and go from the hall.
Thousands of letters are waiting to be released at last, but they still sit in the cold metal box.
A chair is waiting, when will someone sit and dream?

Seeds, frozen in the wasteland, are waiting for hope of Spring’s gentle touch.
The storm is waiting to be freed, hissing in the horizon.
The tides are waiting to be pulled up again, and comprehends that it approaches soon.

They wait.
And wait.
And wait.
From all corners of the globe I see, they are all waiting.

very creative poem! I like how you tell many stories, all in one line each, rather than just one story, though all are connected. its also nice how you go between extremities, such as from a bird to a cat. another good part is how you point out that even the clock, which is keeping track of moving time, still pauses and waits. all in all, great work!

Hi SomeoneRandom! I'm Hop! I think I remember talking to you on the chat!! Welcome to yws btw <3 Anyways, this is a review! Let's get into it~~~~

First off, let's analyze the title. I really like the title you picked. It really makes someone intrigued to click on it and read more. It pulls the reader in and hooks them before the first line is read. You also make it relate to the entire poem. That also is really cool. This title is amazing and really does work with this poem.

So, I don't know if you actually are 11, but if you are... Holy moly guacamole (that's still cool to say, right...?) you are a talented poet and definitely have quite a bit of potential. You repeat the word waiting. It becomes rhythimic and makes the poem flow nicely.

The poem makes you have that empty feeling if you know what I mean. It like makes you feel like all of those things are empty. They wait and they wait. Just a process repeating itself and that's incredible how you put that into words.

I really liked this last stanza. I feel like your use of periods really invokes the emotions you were trying to make. It just really makes that mood click with me. The last line really just shows how the entire world waits and how you are just a spectator of this waiting.

This is an amazing poem, and I really cannot think of any criticism here. You have much skill and I can't wait to read what you publish next.

Stay amazing! Keep writing! Happy Review Day!!!

Love,
Hop
