The Sound of Silence

by SmudgeMudge

Silence is something special. It blocks out all the craziness of the world. It lets you have a moment to gather your thoughts. Sometimes the noise of the world can be stressful and all we need is the sound of silence. When we need sleep we turn to silence. When we are sad we turn to silence. When we are angry we turn to silence. We can always count on silence. Silence restores our spirits and souls. It gives us restoration and peace.

Silence helps everyone after a hard day. Life can be hard sometimes, but a moment with silence can help us remember the good things in life, like our family, friends, and more. We can find silence anywhere we look if we have the patience to find it. So now whenever you are sad, mad, hurting, or stressed go sit down in a quiet space. Invite silence to sit with you, this makes me feel better, and I think it will help you too.

Ooww such touching piece of art. Best suits the topic. Congratulations on your profound work on silence. I like each bit of line and statement since none happens to contradict the other ridiculous ways.
Its wonderful article that we can actually learn from in many many ways than usual. Silence may be inanimate, yet its inspiring when we try not to conceal it. Breaking through silence could be very very dangerous, just like letting the cat out of the bag.
Once again, I appreciate this work and its adorable. You know? It bothers me to discover that my generation has made the context if silence an imminence of sleep or unconsciousness.
Its true that you said "we could find silence anywhere" and does that mean we could find silence in the midst of noise? You know I'm just curious as you rightly pointed out that silence requires much more patience to find and to deal with and so even when finding silence, ourselves have to be silent for silence to come to us.

Hello Smudge! Welcome to the site. Hannah here for a quick review. Hope it helps! (Also, congratulations on getting your first work into the spotlight! You are going to be an excellent addition to the site.)
Wow, this was beautiful. It was very relatable, too. You seem observant of things like these. You should right more essays like this! Amazing job. I didn't find any grammatical mistakes except for a nit-picky one:

"Invite silence to sit with you, this makes me feel better, and I think it will help you too."
Instead of "...,this makes me feel better" maybe separate it into a different sentence? I don't know if it is grammatically correct or not, it just seemed a little off. But that doesn't matter at all. Great job on this! Keep writing and have a great day! I hope to hear more from you.

Hope this helped!

Hannah

This was awesome! The words just seemed to flow perfectly! Each word perfectly planned and executed! It would be cool to see more essays like this with different themes! You could do one on darkness, light, hope, fear, perseverance, etc. Feel free to use any of these ideas! Also congrats on making the literary spotlight! You earned it!

Heyy, stygianmoon17 here for a review :)

First off, god you scared me. I thought this would be an essay on the ACTUAL song "The sound silence". The one where the singer goes "hello darkness my old friend, I've come to talk to you again.."
Yeah that one.
It's become a meme now basically, so thank god the essay wasn't about that xD

I love how positively you say silence is. You talk about how it helps heal wounds, how it helps calm people, and just how overall great it is. And even though I'm more of the kind of person to find it oppressive and loud. Loud with all your feelings and thoughts flooding back to you once all distractions have been erased; well I agree this is pretty new.
It's an original outlook on silence and I love it

Can't wait to read more from you, <3

Now, let's jump to the review.

It was very well written and heart touching. We actually need silence at the end of the day. A noiseful life is actually stressful. It was so relatable. We need silence to cope up. I really liked the last line. - invite silenece......

Enjoyed reading it.
Hope it helps.

Hi! I'm here to do a review!

This is a nice essay about silence that you have written here!

I totally agree with what you've said that, "Silence is something special".

I know that life is beautiful like music but, even the most beautiful music such as the pieces of Tchaikovsky, Mozart or Beethoven have moments of silence and those moments are what makes them beautiful. If you have ever tried to listen to a classical concert then you would understand. The silence in between the movements is the time where we contemplate what we just experienced and absorb what we just heard. Just like in our day to day lives.

Silence for me makes me comfortable internally and externally. Silence promotes tranquility and a serene life. Silence helps me to focus in everything. I think silence is further emphasized by the saying "Silence is not empty, it's full of answers."

Anyways, this is a great essay! Thanks for writing it! It made me think about silence as well. I look forward to more writing like this from you!

P.S. If you want to talk about philosophy, quotes, epiphanies or realizations then I'll be here! Let's be friends. (Only if you're open to it hehe)
