So this is something I felt inspired to write. I hope you guys enjoy it. Although enjoy may not be the right word. Anyway here it is:

It's funny how life can change,
So much in a single instant.
When you blink.
*
One moment you're talking to your best friend.
Then you blink,
And they hate you.
*
One moment your mum is alive and well.
Then you blink,
And cancer claims her.
*
One moment you view the world with childlike innocence.
Then you blink,
And you grow up.
*
One moment your world seems perfect.
Then you blink,
And it collapses around you.
*
When you blink.

Hi there, LGF here for a quick review!

Wow, your poem certainly made an impression on me. It was haunting and unsettling and made me think deeply about growing up, and how much I already have. You chose your words carefully and it wasn't long, just short and sweet which is how I like it. Each stanza was like hammering a nail in, haunting and sad.

Like Omi1 I thought this was very relatable and I'm sure alot of other people have thought about growing up and innocence after reading this because it's so thoughtful and insightful.

I can't find any nitpicks so I'll go through my favorite lines;

One moment you view the world with childlike innocence.
Then you blink,
And you grow up.

Anyway, thanks for posting!

This was very unsettling. I hope that was your intention.
I always prefer when a poem rhymes, but since this is the 21st freaking century, I applaud you for taking the road less traveled by.
That being said, I didn't like the last stanza, though I did like how the first and last stanzas bookended the whole poem. The other four were pretty specific and I felt like the last stanza left me wanting more. I think you could expand on this poem and maybe turn it into an elegy. Picasso didn't stop in the middle of painting Guernica! So I think you could expand on this a little more, embellish it a little, maybe add a few other examples.
I like the whole idea of how fast things change, because it's true.
Maybe I've been reading too much classical poetry or something, because I often feel that contemporary poetry gets a little choppy and jarring. But that being said, the choppiness added to the unsettling feeling that I think really accentuates your topic here, so where choppiness is normally a negative thing, you have taken that aspect of contemporary poetry and used it to your advantage. Great job.
So to end this review, I'd say don't stop here! Keep expounding on your brilliance.

Hello Seraphinaxx! (btw, are you a fan of Beautiful Creatures? ...thats what your name reminds me of...)

The words you chose in this poem were strong and not overly wordy. You made your point in an interesting and creative way unique to you. The slightly different font also helped your poem, though I couldn't say how...

Also, I found this poem to be very relatable (is that even a word...), everybody experiences that moment where everything is fine and then all of a sudden (pardon my colloquialism... :P) everything in the world is wrong and you don't know how you got there or how to fix it.

I honestly don't know what to say to critique you, maybe someone else can come up with something... :P

Anyways, good luck in your writing! I don't know how you could improve, but I hope you do, because you've got some great talent!

Haha, I've only ever seen the movie for Beautiful Creatures (...I thought it was weird... :P) and I'd like to get into doctor who but I am without Netflix. But your welcome, you did a great job on the poem. :D
